Steak releases 'Acute Mania' (Ripple Music)

Emerging from the shadows of murky London bars, this quartet’s love for the underground knows no bounds. Helping to shape a movement in rock and roll music across the UK and Europe – guitarist Reece Tee founded legendary festival Desertfest STEAK has been on a crusade to make cities shake and heads roll since 2012. After releasing a series of devastatingly heavy EPs and their debut full-length 'Slab City' on Napalm Records, the foursome found a home on Californian label Ripple Music for the release of their 2017 sophomore album 'No God to Save', supported by extensive European touring supporting John Garcia, Monster Magnet, The Atomic Bitchwax, Greenleaf, and special slots at festivals such as SXSW, Desertfest in Europe and New York, Stoned From The Underground and X-Games.

Five years later, STEAK return to melt the blacktop with a new collection of smoldering heavy rock that is made to be played low and slow. With the album arrival also comes the advent of the limited edition ‘Steak: Mad Lord’ comic book that will be included with the vinyl. Written by Samuel Smith and illustrated by Rhys Wooton, the comic book brings together STEAK's long-established post-apocalyptic future and the exaggerated Samurai world of feudal Japan taken from the short film 'Mad Lord: Samurai of 1000 Deaths', which soundtrack was entirely recorded by the band.

New album ‘Acute Mania’ features stellar guest vocals from Tom Cameron (ex-Crystal Head) and Chantal Brown (Vodun). It was recorded and mixed by JB Pilon at Buffalo Studio, and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén at Tri-Lamb Studios, with artwork by Schoph Schofield and Rhys Wootton. It will be released on limited edition color merge/splatter gatefold LP (with comic book), black vinyl, CD and digital through Ripple Music. The band will also be appearing at Desertfest London and Desertfest Berlin in the spring of 2022 to present the album alongside their greatest stoner rock classics.
