Summer Breeze 2016: A lot of new names!

Summer Breeze has announced a lot of new the past couple of days:

PARKWAY DRIVE

The chart-storming surfer boys PARKWAY DRIVE will be our guests at SUMMER BREEZE 20126. It seems like the five Aussies led by singer Winston McCall are not really aware that they are considered metalcore heroes. PWD shows are action-laden, full of singalong parts and fun as hell. Really nice guys putting on a brutal racket.

Their gripping modern metal sounds have raised the status of the band immensely over the last few years, but the five sunnyboys still have their feet firmly planted on the ground. Deeply rooted in hardcore according to their own words, the band seems to have become the prototype of all things metalcore. It's inevitable greeting the band from Byron Bay with the horns or a proper surfer salute. It's up to you if you raise the index finger or the thumb along with the little finger. It's both “metal up your ass” and “hang loose”!

EQUILIBRIUM

This will be a great party! With EQUILIBRIUM at SUMMER BREEZE 2016 you can count on a sea of longhaired headbanging and shouting metalheads. Singer Robse has got the crowd firmly in the grip of one hand while holding a beer with the other. It doesn't even matter whether it's mead or beer flowing from the stage. The most important thing is the killer time you can have witnessing an epic metal performance by EQUILIBRIUM.

Folk, viking, pub – EQUILIBRIUM deliver. Although already among the veterans, they are still as motivated as ever. The Bavarians will prove this once again at this (almost) home game in Dinkelsbühl. Be there when EQUILIBRIUM turn it up to eleven!

OHRENFEINDT

Full throttle rock from St. Pauli – that's OHRENFEINDT. No matter how many cylinders are gleaming, OHRENFEINDT keep putting the pedal to the metal. With everything turned up to the max and a good dose of AC/DC, OHRENFEINDT show what the Hamburg scene is capable of. Honest and likeable, the trio will bring a bunch of great stories to the SUMMER BREEZE stage.

Kickstart your engines and ride to Dinkelsbühl, and if you're coming by train or bus, OHRENFEINDT will make you feel as if you'd covered the whole route 66 (or the A7 for that matter), your face burnt by the sun, directly to the stage. Get your motor running!

IRON REAGAN

It's that unapologetic groove that hammers away at your face with full power. It's the thrashy hardcore speed eruptions that have – in no time – put IRON REAGAN on top of the list of bands that must not be missed. In August at SUMMER BREEZE you will have the chance to check out IRON REAGAN live.

Tony's vocals are right on the money, and you don't really need a 5-minute song to make a strong statement. Thrashers, punks, you and me – IRON REAGAN from Richmind, Viriginia kick absolutely everyone's arses. A whirlwind of hardcore, punk and metal will sweep the SUMMER BREEZE site.

BLUES PILLS

The reactions remain the same, BLUES PILLS make jaws drop everywhere. This wasn't a novelty bonus when the band released 'Bliss' in 2012, it was an omen for something big and the beginning of a success story pretty much unparalleled in the last few years.

What voice has this woman got? The American-Swedish-French quartet have their feet deeply rooted in the sixties and seventies, but the music is far more than predictable retro rock, with blues and even soul elements adding to the excitement. Besides the flawless musical performance it is especially vocalist Elin Larsson who gives the band its special character with her raspy, smoky voice. Check them out and let them beam you into another decade.

DYING FETUS

Mandatory appointment for neck exercising! Through consistence and quality, America's brutal commando DYING FETUS have made more than a good name for themselves. Again and again, they deliver a whole catalogue of proof why they are ranked among the best death metal live bands ever.

A loyal following worldwide raises the horns for the Annapolis quartet, since 1991 skulls have been rotating to the most aggressive blastbeats and slams, most of which can safely be described as pioneering. Violence, politics, religion – DYING FETUS settle the score! This band painlessly and extensively celebrate what they do best – death metal!

LORD OF THE LOST

It's going to get dark when LORD OF THE LOST hit the stage! The multifaceted sound of this St. Pauli band can best be described as a mix of dark rock, goth and a noticeable drive for perfection. With synths here and guitars there – always with a lot of feeling and powerful words – that's how LORD OF THE LOST are pushing towards number one in the dark music scene.

At SUMMER BREEZE in Dinkelsbühl you will be able to witness an exceptional band that has been on a few magazine covers as of late. Feel, dance and sing with them – you won't be lost at all when LORD OF THE LOST guide you. Don't miss your date with darkness in August. Or, as vocalist Chris Harms put it in a recent interview: “We make music for the lost, for those who view music as their home, and we are among them too.”

OMNIUM GATHERUM

You can safely call OMNIUM GATHERUM kings of melody. This newly confirmed band brings melodic death metal from Finland to SUMMER BREEZE – the very best of melodic death metal. The smooth, heartfelt melodies meld with Jukka Pelkonen's growls, forming a goosebump-inducing mix that is second to none.

This band has always had a knack for embellishing heavy riffs with beautiful, sweet melodies that aim straight for the listener's heart. We can look forward to hearing this live and on their new release. It is no secret that Finish bands in general have mastered this particular form of melodic death metal years ago, and OMNIUM GATHERUM are certainly among the best for fans of death metal with feeling.

DEEZ NUTS

Probably the grooviest hardcore attack from Australia is called DEEZ NUTS. JJ Peters runs across the stage from left to right and back to front and doesn't mince words when it comes to motivating the crowd to do the same. This is hardcore with a big party factor.

When the crowd loudly sings along to “Your mother should have swallowed you”, it becomes clear that DEEZ NUTS celebrate hardcore and make pretty direct statements that have to be taken with a pinch of salt. In 2015 it so happened that a 15-year-old managed to nominate DEEZ NUTS for the presidential election. The name appeared on the ballots and confused quite a lot of voters. Whether you applaud the young American's action or you are eagerly awaiting the band to play SUMMER BREEZE in Dinkelsbühl – DEEZ NUTS means state of emergency and a lot of fun.

EISBRECHER

The type of ship called icebreaker (= Eisbrecher) leaves a trail for other ships to cross icy waters. The band called EISBRECHER have molten the ice long ago. If there's one band that combines heavy riffs and electronica in a powerful symbiosis, it must be Alexx Wesselsky and his boys.

EISBRECHER songs are full of powerful vocals, gripping hooks, sometimes with massive electronic beats, sometimes rocking straight into your ears. TheTitanic sailed to the west full of luxury and dreams, but it is the EISBRECHER that keeps the harsh reality afloat in the shape of industrial rock and Neue Deutsche Härte. Full speed ahead, an EISBRECHER will dock at the airfield in Dinkelsbühl next August.
