Summer Breeze 2016: Again a whole list of new names!

December seems to be the month of the new names for Summer Breeze:

ARKONA

If you only know the Dinkelsbühl region as a significant tourist destination because of its well-preserved medieval buildings, it seems to be a rarity in picturesque Franconia to see a Russian band that plays viking/pagan/folk metal. Bagpipes, flutes, shaleikas, ocarinas, balalaikas, jew's harps, Russian language lyrics and, on top of that, everything a metal band needs, make ARKONA an exceptional band.

But SUMMER BREEZE makes all of this possible. When horns are raised, hair flies and battle cries resound, it becomes clear how “limitless” metal really is. Russia's ARKONA prove all this and more. So get ready to do the kazachok! Nasdrovje!

TERROR

Los Angeles' TERROR must be one of the hardest touring bands on this planet. Scott Vogel and his guys are not only known for stage banter such as “I need more stage divers on my monitor”, but also for the overwhelming amount of energy packed into each TERROR song. From second one in song one, the band absolutely rips. This is HARDCORE!

In the course of their evolution, TERROR have increased the share of metal on each album. Not least because of that, TERROR are an excellent fit for SUMMER BREEZE. They just write the kind of anthems that work perfectly on bigger stages. Get ready for an action-laden show by the flagship of modern hardcore.

COPPELIUS

Berlin has always been a good breeding ground for bands that break out of the norm. This also applies to our next confirmation: COPPELIUS.

According to their own description, the Berlin band started out playing 19th century chamber core, but has since turned to steampunk.

Open-minded metalheads shouldn't have any reserves towards COPPELIUS though, because their treatment of clarinet, cembalo, cello and contrabass are similarly distorted and intense as is the case with Apocalyptica. COPPELIUS have already stood their ground at numerous shows with bands such as Subway To Sally, Tanzwut, Uriah Heep (!) and Fiddler’s Green, so they will certainly not go own like the Titanic orchestra at SUMMER BREEZE 2016. Much the opposite actually...

UNLEASHED

Isn't it really nice that you can totally rely on the old heroes?!

UNLEASHED are exactly that type of band, musically doing their own thing in a stubborn and oblivious way, which they are going to demonstrate at SUMMER BREEZE 2016.

While many old-school bands have, again and again, followed current trends and sold it as musical evolution, UNLEASHED have been following only one goal since the beginning of their career: To release nothing but straight death metal without unnecessary ballast and embellishments. And they have succeeded since 1989. Their simple old-school death metal songs always kick arse and get heads banging. And since Johnny Hedlund and company can look back on an immense back catalogue by now, their next gig in Dinkelsbühl should be nothing but a triumph.

HEART OF A COWARD

Britain's HEART OF A COWARD kick arse pretty hard. Ultra precise metalcore with a good dose of progressive guitar shredding. During their live shows you wonder how there is not lightning bolts coming out of their bodies, that's how electrifying their performances are for the audience.

HEART OF A COWARD follow the a perfectly honed recipe. Jamie Graham can both growl and sing clean vocals without it ever sounding out of place – everything fits like a glove. World-class songwriting, powerful live shows – a mandatory appointment for fans of modern metal, metalcore and djent. Call it what you will, HEART OF A COWARD are coming to deliver at SUMMER BREEZE.

SOILWORK

Always at the top of your wish lists, back to SUMMER BREEZE with a great new album in 2016: SOILWORK!

It seems like there is a handful of bands that, if it was up to you, could play SUMMER BREEZE every year... Well, we don't want to overdo it, which is why SOILWORK could stay at home in 2014 and 2015. But the Helsingborg gang used the time to write and record a damn strong album titled 'The Ride Majestic', so there was no choice but bringing them to Dinkelsbühl again in 2016. So “Speed” Strid and his boys can rage with new and old material in Bavaria in August, just as you wished. Let's drink to that and have a good time with SOILWORK!

LOST SOCIETY

LOST SOCIETY just finished a new album at the end of this year. First opinions point towards a third album by the Finns that is even heavier and faster than 'Fast Loud Death' and 'Terror Hungry'. And we're pretty sure the crowd at SUMMER BREEZE will totally go crazy to LOST SOCIETY's song, including the third album.

A thrash party in Dinkelsbühl with special entertainment commando LOST SOCIETY! Guitarist/vocalist Samy Elbanna will fire up the fans and, with his three colleagues, pump some serious thrash into the crowd. Straight forward – ideal food for headbanging. Slowly but surely, LOST SOCIETY are growing and building the foundation for the thrash throne of the new generation, but obviously using the materials supplied by the old thrash greats. Horns up!

NILE

NILE are a band who don't need to reinvent the wheel, as they have been navigating well with their own brand of egyptologic brutality, crushing everything that crosses their path. A death metal blast whirlwind that simply deracinates and destroys anything and everything.

NILE's intentions are just to shatter everything to its foundations. We are about to see the magnitude of the quake that will rock Dinkelsbühl. You just have to look forward to what Karl Sanders and his cohorts will deliver for your eyes and ears. And George Kollias hits the snare once for every meter the river Nile flows through the African continent. This won't be a comfy cruise on the Nile, this will be a wild ride on a tsunami!

PSYCHOPUNCH

Punk rock from Sweden? Yes, please! Västerås' own PSYCHOPUNCH are going to check in at SUMMER BREEZE for a kick-arse show.

With their new album 'Sweet Baby Octane' they will, once again, throw around killer melodies driven by whipping punk rock riffs and catchy singalong choruses. The band led by singer, guitarist and mastermind Jarmo don't only have that typical punk rock street dog charm, they ARE punk rock in body and soul! And to top it all off, they are probably one of the nicest bands around, even after over 15 years in the business. If you see the guys at the festival site after their show, buy them a beer, because they deserve it. And believe us, you can have a lot of fun with Swedes when they are slightly drunk...

MOONSORROW

Folk, pagan and black metal fans can breathe easy. We have a very special treat for you again in 2016: Hailing from Helsinki, MOONSORROW will fly directly in for SUMMER BREEZE.

After five years of silence the Finns also have a new album under their belts, and it was about time too! With their epic songs comprised of the above mentioned influences, they know how to please, not only on record, but also captivating crowds from the stage. It's nice to know that some things are reliable, such as MOONSORROW and their undeniable knack for big melodies and heavy riffs. Their Dinkelsbühl appearance will be a true party, no doubt about that!

ROTTEN SOUND

This band is like a punch in the face! No, wrong, they are more like a hurricane that absolutely destroys everything. Ladies and gentlemen, ROTTEN SOUND will sweep SUMMER BREEZE 2016 like a whirlwind!

Hailing from Vaasa, Finland, these grinders are always happy to return to Dinkelsbühl and welcome guests at our festival. This is not least due to the fact that their high speed grindcore contains all the facets that make a great grind band. And also the intensity the Finns create on stage is always worth watching one of their shows. Speed freaks should mark this band in red when the running order is published and make their way to their SUMMER BREEZE show in August. There is no better way to get your hair combed backwards than by ROTTEN SOUND!

STICK TO YOUR GUNS

Okay, it s time to start oiling your vocal cords! You surely want to be in form to sing along when STICK TO YOUR GUNS play Dinkelsbühl, right?

Musically speaking, the Orange County boys have got more than enough stuff to scream your lungs out to. Not to mention going crazy in the mosh pit, but who are we telling this?! With their mix of metal, metalcore, hardcore and – obviously – Orange County punk rock, STICK TO YOUR GUNS have rocked every festival they have played, and the same will happen in Dinkelsbühl. There is just no escaping the band's catchiness. Look forward to a massive slab of feel-good-and-go-crazy music at SUMMER BREEZE 2016!
