Summer Breeze: A few big names added
The new names on the lin-up of Summer Breeze 2016 don't really need an introduction, but we'll give it to you anyway:
SLAYER
SLAAAAAYEEER! Your never ending screams were finally heard! SLAYER will raze SUMMER BREEZE 2016 to the ground!
Although not long ago, after the tragic loss of Jeff Hanneman (R.I.P.) and the internal trouble with drummer Dave Lombardo, things didn't seem to be going too well for the ultimate metal institution, their 2015 album “Repentless” felt like a release, like something our scene had never experienced before. The title track alone sufficed to make all doubters, who didn't give a penny for Araya and Co. any more, shut up once and for all. So it was no wonder that SLAYER stormed the charts all over the world, in Germany even to number 1 for the first time ever. If you add to all this that on the following tour Kerry King and his cohorts were tighter and more uncompromising than in the last 15 years at least, there is no choice but to put them back on the throne of the (thrash) metal scene where they belong. Chapeau!
Be there when it starts raining blood over Dinkelsbühl! Hell Awaits! SLAAAAAYEEER!
NAPALM DEATH
Let's talk about THE most constant death/grind combo in the scene, who have been up to no good since 1981 (!!!) and – like a few other old English hardcore/crust(grind bands – a huge influence for many other bands: NAPALM DEATH are coming to SUMMER BREEZE Open Air to make some heads roll!
Making jaws drop for over 30 years, the band from Birmingham, England have rarely played a bad show in the course of their career. Led by scene icon Shane Embury, the band is just too experienced to do so. With their rude death metal and old-school grind attacks they manage again and again to create a wall of sound that literally crushes the crowd. The whole thing is crowned by Barney Grenway's fantastic vokills, and his spastic contortions on stage give the shows their very own charm. This is something you must see and experience at least once in your lifetime! We are very happy to be able to welcome this institution again in Dinkelsbühl, because with NAPALM DEATH good entertainment is always guaranteed.
ASKING ALEXANDRIA
No matter what changes the band endured in their existence so far – ASKING ALEXANDRIA always came back stronger. And now the metalcore heroes from York are coming to celebrate a show with you at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air. The first album with new singer Denis Stoff is titled “The Black”, and the eponymous single proves that the UK lads can give metalcore their characteristic ASKING ALEXANDRIA touch. Hardcore, nu metal and rock play a big role too. Catchy melodies and the highest quality of songwriting are guarantee for a gripping concert experience – next August in Dinkelsbühl at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2016- Let's go!
MONUMENTS
Can it just be a little bit more, please? More riffs, for example? Or how about a bit more tempo changes, breaks and other progressive elements? Yes? Well, than we can help you, because MONUMENTS are going to be attending the party in Dinkelsbühl.
It doesn't really matter if you categorize the band as prog or djent, fact is, with their fretboard shredding the guys from the UK are among the best this genre has to offer nowadays. And – God forbid – they might have a slight modern metal touch, but please, dear narrow-minded metalheads, just focus on the musical class and finesse this band will put on display in Dinkelsbühl. All those who just like it simple and brutal won't enjoy MONUMENTS much in Dinkelsbühl either, but everyone else should really look forward to the Londoners coming to Dinkelsbühl to make you dizzy with their playing. Nuff said!
