Summer Breeze: One cancellation, but also new names

Unfortunately the organization had to inform everyone that DEVILDRIVER have cancelled their appearance at SUMMER BREEZE 2016. The good news: They have already managed to find a replacement and more:

CLITEATER

There is a nice batch of goregrind rolling from Holland to Dinkelsbühl's SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2016. Just by looking at the cover artwork of the five CLITEATER records you can tell the level of grunts you can expect. Even a few classics get the clit treatment and get spun around in the pit. CLITEATER have got the weirdest ways to spread a good mood, as every one of their drum grooves turns even the heaviest festival boots into dance shoes. This will be a grinding fest. A goregrinding one!

SIKTH

A cry of joy resounded around the world when SIKTH announced their return to the stages in December 2013. It is seldom that a band pioneers a genre that hasn't even fully developed yet. Add to this that the band were inactive from 2008 to 2013 but still ranked among the most impressive modern progressive metal artists.

It almost sounds as if they were time travellers coming from the future to influence many bands and put a smile on their faces when they get to admire SIKTH live in the here and now. The Britons were true birth attendants for a number of bands who adorn their biographies with terms such as “modern”, “progressive”, “djent” and “technical metal”. Don't miss SIKTH at SUMMER BREEZE if you want the chance to have a closer look at these modern metal veterans and end up staring in awe. And if this going up and down the timeline is making your head spin, at least you've trained an important movement for August.

DEADLOCK

For ages Bavaria's DEADLOCK have been guarantee for action-laden shows and circling pits at SUMMER BREEZE. So it comes as no surprise that we had to book them again this year, when a new album is due to hit the racks.

Their mix of core, melodic death metal, groove and touches of electronica sounds like it was made for this world's open air stages. Add to this the incomparable voice of singer Sabine Scherer, which smoothly drives every one of the band's hits into your ears. That's why we know we don't need to worry, as you all will support DEADLOCK at their Bavarian home game on the fields of Dinkelsbühl with all that you've got, because one thing is for sure: this band will pay you back double or even triple!

UNEARTH

Fans of a true arse kicking, circle pits and dangerous stage acrobatics, start your neck and extremities warm up program NOW! Your favourites UNEARTH will strike at SUMMER BREEZE 2016.

The Boston natives started out as a metalcore act, but have been emancipating themselves from this genre tending to more metallic regions, yet without denying their roots. Their current album “Watchers Of The Rule” fittingly combines mosh, groove, aggression and insane technical chops on the six strings. If you've ever seen the guitar weirdos Ken Susi and Buzz McGrath live, you know that these guys are second to none in terms of stage action AND technical shredding. Plus shouter Trevor Phipps, who is the epitome of frontman. Welcome to the ultimate demolition!

ARCH ENEMY

ARCH ENEMY are stronger than ever. After overhauling their line-up, namely hiring Alissa White-Gluz on the mic and Jeff Loomis on guitar, the band led by Michael Amott still now how to summon storms through melodic death metal, even 20 years after their formation.

When you hear ARCH ENEMY playing the songs off the killer “War Eternal” album from the SUMMER BREEZE stage you will realize how melodic death metal is supposed to be pumped into the masses of relentlessly headbanging metalheads. At full power! Be it guitar duels with an ever increasing level of finesse and precision or Alissa's delivery at the mic, it just rules! Don't miss it!
