Swedish artist Ellen Benediktson is marking a new chapter in her career with the release of her debut EP, Good Girl. Following the success of her singles Basic, Maniac, and Catch Me, this collection showcases her evolving sound—a blend of pop, rock, and punk influences with honest, reflective lyrics.

Ellen first gained attention with Songbird in the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest 2014, launching a career that has since seen her perform on major stages and gaining millions of streams. With Good Girl, she embraces her love for pop/rock and tells stories of self-discovery, following your dreams, and personal growth.

“This EP reflects my many different sides” Ellen says. “It’s about figuring out who you are, pushing back against expectations, and allowing yourself to change. And it’s about time, don’t you think?”

The title track Good Girl is written by the artist herself together with Adam Von Mentzer (who co-wrote the global hit Cupid by Fifty Fifty) and Hanna Melander. The song blends catchy pop with messy punk with vulnerable yet funny lyrics that captures the essence of the world Ellen has been building up on her recent journey —embracing imperfection, don’t take yourself too seriously and be bold.

The EP includes the previously released singles Basic, Maniac, and Catch Me. With contributions from Linnea Deb, Andreas Lindbergh, Dino Medanhodzic, and Maja Ivarsson (The Sounds), Good Girl is both a reflection of Ellen’s personal journey and a nod to the music that has influenced her over the years. Good Girl is out May 2nd on all streaming platforms.
