Swedish death metallers War Magic unleash "Atomic Rites" on March

Swedish death metal force War Magic is set to unleash their new album, Atomic Rites, on March 7 via Obelisk Polaris Productions. The title track "Atomic Rites" is already available: YouTube Link.

War Magic was formed in 2021 by Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Massacre, and many more) and Peter Svensson (Assassin’s Blade, Void Moon, and more), with the aim of paying tribute to the war-inspired metal of Bolt Thrower and classic Death Metal. The current lineup is completed by drummer Thomas Ohlsson (Stass, ex-F.K.Ü).

The band’s first album, Foreverwar, was released in 2022 via Doc-Records. Now, War Magic returns with their blistering new album, Atomic Rites. While Foreverwar leaned more toward the "War" aspect, this new record shifts its focus towards "Magic", while still maintaining its war-driven themes. The title track, Atomic Rites, explores the story behind the first atomic bomb and The Manhattan Project, while songs like Shattered Mind address the psychological aftermath of war, particularly PTSD among veterans.

With Atomic Rites, War Magic cements its presence in the Swedish Death Metal scene, delivering a devastating combination of old-school heaviness and haunting atmosphere.

The album was produced by War Magic, with music composed by Johansson and lyrics written by Svensson. Recording took place at The Rotpit and Night Wind Studios, while mixing and mastering were handled by Svensson at Night Wind Studios. The album’s cover artwork was created by Julián Felipe Mora Ibáñez.

The title track "Atomic Rites" is already available, offering a first look into the band's raw intensity. Watch the official video here: YouTube Link.
