The Bad Plus Announce 2025 European Tour In Support Of Acclaimed Album “COMPLEX EMOTIONS”

With their latest album "Complex Emotions", The Bad Plus have solidified their reinvention as one of the most daring and dynamic groups in modern music. Now, the genre-defying quartet will bring their compelling new sound to audiences across Europe with a tour spanning 13 cities and 8 countries, kicking off May 27 at Jazz sous les pommiers in Coutances, France.

The tour marks a bold new chapter for the band, whose self-titled 2022 release introduced a powerful new lineup featuring founding members Reid Anderson (bass) and Dave King (drums), joined by guitar innovator Ben Monder and genre-hopping saxophonist Chris Speed. Together, this quartet has expanded the group’s sonic language into thrilling new territory while remaining rooted in the band’s distinctive identity.

"Complex Emotions", the second album by this reconfigured lineup, takes its name from a phrase Anderson and King have long used to describe the band’s mission: to explore the full emotional spectrum with fearless creativity. The album showcases a group at the height of its collective powers—deeply intuitive, richly melodic, and relentlessly inventive.

“With this new album and this new batch of music, we're planting a flag to say that this version of the band has really come into its own,” says Anderson.
