The Chemical Brothers are back with a new album: Born In The Echoes

Today seminal dance music masters Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, a.k.a. The Chemical Brothers, release "Born In The Echoes", their first studio album since 2010's "Further".

In 2011, they did the soundtrack for the film "Hanna". The year after they released a live album called "Don't Think". Last year, they teamed up with Miguel and Lorde for a track on the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1 soundtrack.

The Chem’s already shared some music from their newest “Born In The Echoes” masterpiece: the propulsive dance track "Sometimes I Feel So Deserted", the Q-Tip collaboration called "Go" (the video for "Go" has been directed by one of the greatest creative minds of our time, Michel Gondry, watch the making of here), the St. Vincent collaboration "Under Neon Lights", and "EML Ritual" featuring Ali Love.

In an interview, Tom Rowlands said, "The most important feature of the new album ”Born In The Echoes” is that it connects with us emotionally in some way. We hope for finding a new way to make you feel. We dream of new sounds and different frames. We have worked with some guest singers but mostly the album is pure Chemical Brothers."

The album is reflective of the unmistakeable sound that has underlined the duo’s position as one of the most influential acts in global electronic music.

This summer, the Chemical Brothers take their incomparable, hallucinogenic live show (as seen in the 2012 film Don’t Think) on the road. They headlined at Sonar Festival (Barcelona), Glastonbury Festival (UK), Rock Werchter (Belgium) and Montreux Jazz Festival (Switserland) amongst others and are due to play Bestival (UK) and many other festivals in Europe, Japan and America. The live show has been entirely redesigned by Adam Smith and Marcus Lyall. They have directed new visual pieces which appear on a huge LED screen behind the band. The work has been produced by Black Dog Films (Ridley Scott Associates).

Adam – the band’s long-term visual collaborator, describes the show are “a truly unique, immersive psychedelic experience. Our aim is to fully capture the spirit of the music in the incredible new Chemical Brothers live set.”

The new visuals mix lighting and projection installations (that wouldn’t look out of place at an art gallery) with the visceral raw energy of an acid house rave in a warehouse. It’s jaw-dropping, eye-boggling, euphoria-inducing and mind-altering in equal measure.
