The Feather New Track 'Closer' + Video Premiere
The Feather, Thomas Medard’s (Dan San) solo project, is finally back. Seven years after the delicate Invisible (2013), the Belgian artist departs this time from folk trails to offer an intimate dream pop powered by synthesizers, drum machines and classical instruments. A mix of modern and vintage sounds with meticulous and wild production (Yann Arnaud, Yannick Lemoine, Olivier Marguerit). 'Closer', the first track to be unveiled, is accompanied by a minimal and percussive video directed by Simon Medard (Cocoon, Petit Biscuit, Dour Festival ...), brother of the singer and eternal visual partner of the project.
After working in the shadows for Blanche, Noémie Wolf (Hooverphonic), Condore,... and many various projects (compositions for about fifteen shorts, documentaries, plays and promotional spots), Thomas is now ready to deliver how own vision to the world.
About Closer, Thomas says: « Closer talks about the duality of my relationship to the ‘couple’ and to others. This need to be alone and the fear of being alone at the same time. “Closer, come closer, closer but not too close”. This balance between loneliness and openness that can mutate from one second to the next, without any warning. To illustrate this feeling, I chose to talk about a specific moment of the day: the few minutes before falling asleep... When the night comes, alone with my thoughts, eyes closed: the mere presence of the other may be enough to ward off the dizziness that surrounds me”.
