The Howlers Release New Single ‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’ Taken From Debut Album ‘What You've Got to Lose to Win It All’ Released 17th May

‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’ is the new single from East London trio The Howlers and the third track to be revealed from their upcoming debut album ‘What You’ve Got to Lose to Win It All’, which is set for release on the 17th May. An epic, 15-track collection of expansive, cinematic earworms, the album was produced by Black Honey and is defined by The Howlers’ resilience, friendship and unconditional love through unimaginable pain. Taking their lead from an eclectic range of influences, from the film scores of Ennio Morricone and John Willams to desert blues pioneers , Kurt Vile, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Father John Misty, The Howler's debut album proves they are far from your conventional guitar band.

‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’ follows the release of ‘Lady Luck’ and ‘El Dorado’, which have seen the band picking up support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, KEXP, Absolute Radio, Amazing Radio, Clash, 1883, The Line of Best Fit, as well as being featured on such TV programmes including Brooklyn Nine-Nine and regular plays on SoccerAM. The new single finds frontman Adam exploring his own vulnerabilities and reflecting on life as a young kid struggling to fit in and how difficult his parents must have found that, as he elaborates;

"Cowboys Don't Cry" is a track that speaks to the experiences and feelings that many young people go through as they try to work out who they are in the world. As a young boy I never really felt like I belonged anywhere, struggling socially to understand what was going on around me, there were times I would walk home from school in tears due to how I felt isolated, alone and misunderstood. Often just like a Hollywood film cliche I'd eat my lunch in the toilet cubicle as it was a place I felt safe when not in class but that was my reality as a kid, no parent wants to see their child struggling so I can't imagine how sad it made my folks to watch me become so hollow and sad all the time, that’s why there is a line in the song that says “I am my mother's child stronger for each and every single tear I’ve ever cried” because it was my folks that never gave up on me”.
