The King’s Curse: Death Metal Homage on December 18, 2026. "King Diamond"
Death Metal Promotion will release The King’s Curse: Death Metal Homage on December 18, 2026. The seven-track compilation features bands from Canada, Poland, Brazil, Sweden, Romania, and the USA, each taking on a song from King Diamond’s solo catalogue.
The selection spans several of his albums. Gloamus tackle “A Mansion in Darkness” from Abigail, while Vephar take on “Evil” from Fatal Portrait. Deadspeak revisit “Welcome Home”, and Imperial Domain take on “The Invisible Guests”, both originally featured on Them. The remaining tracks are “Black Funeral” by Orthostat, “Desecration of Souls” by Putred, and “The Pact” by Tomb of Annihilation.
With King Diamond’s distinctive vocals, horror-driven storytelling, and elaborate songwriting, his material offers plenty for extreme metal bands to work with. This compilation brings seven different interpretations together, with each act approaching the original material from its own corner of the death metal underground.
