[The] Music Of Sound take aim at the far right with unflinching new single 'Danger Danger'
London-based multicultural dream-pop four-piece [The] Music Of Sound return with the release of their most direct and politically charged single to date; ‘Danger Danger’, on October 9th 2026 via Monochrome Motif Records.
Blending dream-pop, electronic music and cinematic songwriting, [The] Music Of Sound brings together generations, cultures and radically different musical backgrounds. Comprised of Gen Z musicians Sherin, Aniya and Elena alongside veteran composer, producer and radio broadcaster Neil March, the group have created a striking musical mix between youth and experience. The result is a sound that has drawn comparisons to Beach House, Saint Etienne, Chromatics and Future Islands while carving out a musical identity that defies comparison. Elena’s haunting flute and the band’s layered harmonies sit alongside Sherin’s ethereal vocals and March’s distinctive piano playing, creating an atmospheric sound that allows difficult subjects to sit alongside moments of beauty.
Throughout 2026 the band have released a string of acclaimed singles ‘Tyche’, ‘Paradigm’, ‘Ebbw Vale’ and most recently ‘Shimmer’, amassing over 170,000 streams and earning support from the likes of Pop Journal, RTE, Fame Magazine and Illustrate Magazine. Danger Danger continues the band’s recent evolution through shimmering dream-pop textures and spacious electronic soundscapes whilst pushing their emotionally resonant songwriting into more immediate and politically charged territory.
Recorded by the band themselves and mastered by Mark L. Beazley of Trace Recordings, ‘Danger Danger’ is arguably the band’s most hard hitting and lyrically direct song to date. Rather than disguising its subject through metaphor, Danger Danger confronts it head on. At the heart of the track is a deliberately unflinching message: a rejection of the far right, racism and the politics of division, and a call for unity and solidarity in the face of rising hatred.
Speaking on the single, vocalist Sherin explains, “It was a deliberate decision to write a song that leaves no one in any doubt as to what we think about the far right and all the cowards in the media and in politics who are platforming them.”
Lyricist Neil March adds, “Putting that strong message over via one of our most catchy, radio friendly tracks means hopefully more people will engage with the track and be curious about the lyrics.”
MORE INFORMATION:
Originally formed by composer, producer and radio broadcaster Neil March for a BBC Introducing performance at Latitude Festival, the band has evolved from their avant-garde and post-classical roots into the immersive electro dream-pop outfit they are today. [The] Music of Sound’s current incarnation took shape in 2024 after South Indian vocalist Sherin moved to the UK to pursue a career in music. After growing up in a culture where opportunities for young women were heavily restricted, her move represented a decisive break with her past and the beginning of a new chapter as a musician. She met Neil March at London’s ICMP music college in 2022, a meeting that would prove transformative for her. Sherin subsequently received an Arts Council England endorsement as an ‘exceptional talent’ for a Global Talent Visa, and became the band’s lead vocalist, playing a pivotal role in defining its current sound. The band is now complete with the re-addition of second vocalist and keys player Aniya Sofia who left the band at 17 to pursue a degree at Cambridge University.
