The Rolling People launch their debut EP , I’ll Be There

There’s something in the water in the North and it reaches boiling point as newcomers, The Rolling People mark their signing to taste making LAB Records with the unapologetic, turned-up-to-eleven, surging single, I’ll Be There. Studied musicianship meets the euphoric abandon of live performance as the 18-year-olds from Stockport capitalise on their barely-controlled popularity as a sought-after live band by releasing the first single from their upcoming, debut EP.

Plotting their way to a headline show at Manchester’s O2 Ritz in December, each cut of new music on the way to the No Place To Be EP, slated for springtime release, gets them closer to even bigger stages. Set to join other rising stars on the road in support slots nestled amongst their own major venue headline outings, The Rolling People have almost instantly fallen in with a community of like-minded musicians who are putting the joy of big night out pop and roll back on UK music’s front line.

Starting out at just 15-years of age and mastering their instruments in a cramped rehearsal space, the hours paid off as they SOLD OUT their debut headline UK Tour in 2023. Starting out as an entirely independent outfit, their self-release of fan-favourite, Better Man, hit No.1 on the iTunes Rock Chart and No.14 on the iTunes Official Chart, affecting a catapult start to their lives as recording artists. I’ll Be There now captures a sense of advanced confidence and recording nous having felt that first wave of warmth from a rapidly expanding family of fans.

Charlie McNichol, the band’s frontman, says of the single: “I’ll Be There is a song that we wrote out of a desire for a modern rock anthem in a time where there are few in sight. We wanted to harness punk rock but with more light hearted lyrics reminiscent of a love song.

“Most of the tune revolves around the feeling of having someone’s back in all circumstances whether that be a friend or a lover, but also the anger and entrapment of selling out to live a life you truly don’t want to live.”

While catching the attention of not only LAB, a label that has previously launched the mainstream careers of artists including The K’s, Nell Mescal, Antony Szmierek and many more, The Rolling People are also now firmly in the sights of the UK’s leading festival and venue promoters. Upcoming, intimate headline shows beat a worn path travelled by other upwardly-mobile indie bands including a night at King Tut’s in Glasgow.

Looking ahead to a festival date in Liverpool at the multi-venue Sound City, with more to follow, as well as support dates with Luka State and more to be announced, all of the currently confirmed UK live dates for The Rolling People are as follows:
