The Shires Share New Single “a good life”, From New Album "Bonfire" Out July 3

Pioneering British country duo The Shires – Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes – have shared their new song “a good life”, the final preview before the release of the chart-topping duo’s sixth studio album Bonfire, out July 3 via Blue Highway Records. A sonic celebration of togetherness, escapism and positivity and their first LP in four years, Bonfire will be released on LP, CD (including signed formats) and digital. Pre-order HERE.

On “a good life”, The Shires are taking a moment to shine a light on what matters most. A sparse, strings-soaked ballad, the song is slow and sweet, conjuring up images of barefoot slow dances in the kitchen. Written by Ben Earle, Kaity Rae, Beth McCarthy and produced by Earle, “a good life” is a quiet and intimate statement about how the mark of a good life isn’t the sum of your money or possessions, it’s the measure of love around you and the ones you share it with.

“Getaway Car,” the lead single from Bonfire, made country music history when it became the first track by British artists to top the Official UK Country Radio Airplay Chart on Sunday 12 April.

From their breakthrough in 2015, The Shires have seen records tumble. They became the first British country artists to achieve a UK Top Ten album with their debut Brave, delivered the fastest-selling UK country album of all time with follow-up My Universe, and became the only British act to win a prestigious CMA Award.
