The Twilight Sad have released their album IT’S THE LONG GOODBYE today
The Scottish post-punk/indie rock band The Twilight Sad have released their album IT’S THE LONG GOODBYE today. The record marks their most personal and relatable work to date, shaped in large part by frontman James Graham’s mental health.
Much of the album was written to process the contrasts in his life; between the beauty of his family, children, and extensive touring, and the reality of his mother’s struggle with dementia. These difficult yet deeply human emotions are translated into the layered post-rock the band excels at. As Graham explains:
“I want to be a relatable person that talks about things that can happen and give an opportunity for people to go, well, you’re not alone. I want people to be able to listen to this record and hear that it comes from a place of raw emotion.”
The band will head out on tour at the end of next month, including dates in the Netherlands and Belgium.
