This Never Happened artist PARIS releases new single "Genesis" - album ovailable August 29

Following the momentum of her recent singles, PARIS returns with “Genesis,” the third taste from her debut album Labyrinth, and the track that sets the tone for the journey ahead.

From its very first moments, “Genesis” envelops the listener in a shadowy, pulsing groove, a hypnotic bassline anchoring layers of rich percussion, ethereal synth swells, and melodic fragments that feel both urgent and eternal. At its heart lies the mantra-like refrain, “I’ve been here since the genesis”, a line that loops like a compass point, pulling the listener deeper into a reflective state. The lyric is both personal and universal, about starting over, finding the way forward after feeling lost, and reconnecting with something pure and unshakable.

The track’s darker, groovier tone is the result of PARIS’ recent explorations on the dance floor, tested and refined through her Into The Labyrinth club nights in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. Held over two weekends in June and July, these intimate shows gave fans a first taste of the album in its natural habitat: late-night rooms alive with movement, energy, and a shared sense of release.

To mark the album’s arrival, PARIS will expand this concept with a run of intimate club shows and experiential showcases across Australia. Each event will feature a full album playback, a PARIS DJ set, immersive projections, and bespoke venues designed to fuse music, space, and community. Dates in Byron Bay, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane will run through late August and September, with more cities to follow.

Additional live plans include support slots for Lane 8 and Sultan Shepard in South Africa this October and her first North American shows in several years for This Never Happened Presents in Chicago and Denver.

“Genesis” is out now, with Labyrinth arriving August 29 on This Never Happened - it’s a debut album that captures over a decade of sonic evolution, introspection, and growth from one of Australia’s most compelling electronic voices.
