The record arrives just five days before Searchlight Pictures and Academy Award nominee James Mangold’s much-anticipated A Complete Unknown, starring Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan, opens in theaters everywhere on December 25. The cast also includes three-time Academy Award nominee Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, and Scoot McNairy. The film recently received nominations for the 82nd annual Golden Globes including Best Motion Picture, Drama as well as Timothée Chalamet and Edward Norton each receiving nods in Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture, respectfully. The film is also nominated for three Critics Choice Awards including Best Picture, Timothée Chalamet for Best Actor and Edward Norton for Best Supporting Actor.

Regarding the soundtrack, Mangold commented, “To me, there was only one way to make this film — to cast actors that are profoundly talented, ambitious (and brave enough!) to inhabit the whole of the artists they would portray. And in order to inhabit that world those artists had to be able to sing the songs..We were never out to replace the power, beauty and majesty of what exists, but rather, to celebrate it.”

Bound to be a collector’s item, a limited-edition Vinyl version of the Soundtrack will land on shelves and D2C on January 24.
