Tindersticks new album ‘The Waiting Room’ is out today!
Throughout their two-decade career, Tindersticks have become known as masters of restraint and human emotion, led by the sophistication and rich baritone of Stuart Staples. Today sees the release of 'The Waiting Room’ through City Slang. It's their most elaborate and diverse album to date. It’s also an ambitious collaborative film project where each song on the album will be accompanied by a short film. The idea for this was created in conjunction with the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and its chief Calmin Borel. Calmin’s great knowledge of short film coupled with Tindersticks’ very definite sense of aesthetic were a strong foundation for this concept. Specific filmmakers were approached with a different song from the album, resulting in a varied collection of styles and techniques that are a perfect foil to Staples’ intimate relationship with the songs.
