Tomorrowland Brasil: round up & pictures

Last weekend Tomorrowland Brasil welcomed 180.000 visitors from 69 countries for the first time in Parque Maeda in Itu. The announcement of Tomorrowland Brasil was made by David Guetta in July 2014 at the 10th anniversary of Tomorrowland in Belgium during a two-way live video broadcast between the main stage at Tomorrowland in Belgium and a live audience of 10,000 in São Paolo. During the ticket sale in September 2014, all 180.000 tickets for this inauguration edition sold out in less than 3 hours.

200 dj’s, 7 stages, 100 hectare site

Tomorrowland Brasil is a 3-day music festival and 5-day DreamVille camping experience nestled on 100-hectare (250-acre) site within the hidden parts of the magical ground of Parque Maeda in Itu (Sao Paolo). The People of Tomorrow discovered The Book of Wisdom, known to millions across the world as one of the most jaw-dropping productions to ever grace a festival site. After leaving Belgium weeks ago, 69 of shipping containers carrying the gargantuan structure travelled across the ocean to reached its final destination in the pristine natural landscape in Brazil.

Next to the Book of Wisdom, 6 other stages were built up and made ready to host more than 200 artists. Global superstars Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Yves V flew in to play across the seven unique designed stages. On Thursday night more than 20.000 DreamVille guests arrived for The Gathering. An 8th stage was built only to be used on Thursday night for the pre-party (The Gathering) of Tomorrowland at Campingsite DreamVille. Hotels in the region, from Sorocaba to Campinas, had more than 80% occupancy during the event. The flow of cars, vans, buses and taxis passed without major problems and 10 kilometers of roads have been built especially for this event.

Tomorrowland Brasil 2016

With an army of 5.000 crew, 200 Belgian experts that flew in and more than 2 years of preparation, study and planning, Tomorrowland Brasil took a flying start. There is a good communication with the town administration, the police and the fire brigade and for the first Tomorrowland Brasil there were no significant incidents.

On April 21st, 22nd and 23rd of April, a second chapter of Tomorrowland Brasil will be written.
