Tormenti / Amaranto, an electronic doppelgänger - Samuele Cyma and Barbara Nicole remix the Niglio brothers

Tormenti and Amaranto are two tracks by the Niglio brothers featured on Penombra, their debut album released last May by PLUMA records (Irma Records). The two tracks were remixed by Samuele Cyma and Barbara Nicole respectively, taking the electronic UK garage sounds of the original tracks and taking them to other worlds.

Samuele Cyma takes Tormenti, a laid-back 2-step dedicated to “enjoying slowly”, after a dilated intro nervously speeds it up making it a clubbing piece and then closes it with an almost sacred-sounding coda. Barbara Nicole remixes Amaranto pushing it powerfully towards house taking us in a few seconds to an Ibiza beach. The two tracks are the first excerpt from Penombra Remix, to be released on March 28, 2025, a project with which the two brothers entrust their compositions to a multiplicity of friendly voices with completely different styles, a choral reinterpretation that tends to highlight the danceable and experimental side of their music.

Niglio's Penombra is a record that celebrates the glories of 90s/'00s electronic music, from 2-step to drum&bass, integrating and revisiting elements of Lucanian tradition. Penombra is a compact listen, 30 minutes of wide-ranging electronic music that reaches maturity with the two brothers, who have come to the release of a record that combines their past with the imminent future. The record was co-produced with Alessandro Di Maso aka Roden, a trusted friend and collaborator of the duo who also signed one of the remixes to be released soon.

Niglio's Tormenti and Amaranto in the remixed version by Samuele Cyma and Barbara Nicole come out on Feb. 28, 2025 for PLUMA records (Irma Records) and anticipate Penombra Remix, the entire album remixed by different producers to be released on March 28, 2025.
