Tour in Portugal | Juliana Linhares nominated for Latin Grammys with "Até Cansar o Cansaço"

Brazilian artist nominated for Best Portuguese-Language Roots Music Album and set to present the album in four concerts, in a duo format with music producer Elísio Freitas

Juliana Linhares has just been nominated for the 27th Latin GRAMMY Awards, in the category of Best Portuguese-Language Roots Music Album, for Até Cansar o Cansaço, the second album of her solo career.

The nomination places the Brazilian singer, songwriter and actress in a category that also includes Carminho, with Eu Vou Morrer de Amor ou Resistir; João Gomes, Mestrinho and Jota.pê, with Dominguinho Vol. 2 (Ao Vivo); Psirico, with Molho Lambão; and Zaynara, with Amor Perene.

Just over a month after the nomination was announced, Juliana Linhares returns to Portugal to perform Até Cansar o Cansaço live, with concerts in Ponta do Sol, Madeira, Évora, Lisbon and Póvoa de Varzim, on a tour running from 21 to 31 October. The concerts will be presented in a duo format with Elísio Freitas, the album’s music producer, on guitar.

Juliana Linhares has established herself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Brazilian music, bringing together music, theatre, the body and the culture of Brazil’s Northeast in a language entirely her own. CartaCapital named Até Cansar o Cansaço one of the year’s major releases and described Juliana as a “performer of rare presence, a consistent repertoire and a powerful command of the stage.”

The album grew out of an investigation into exhaustion, sleep and dreaming, shaped in part by Juliana’s engagement with the work of Brazilian neuroscientist Sidarta Ribeiro. Featuring 11 tracks, it brings together original compositions and reinterpretations of songs by Elino Julião, Belchior and Manduka, alongside guest appearances by Ney Matogrosso, Agnes Nunes and Anastácia.

The album was produced by Elísio Freitas, who joins Juliana on guitar throughout this Portuguese tour. The artistic direction is by Marcus Preto, while the overall artistic concept was developed by Juliana Linhares herself.

With her sights already set on 2027, Juliana Linhares is planning a new European tour of Até Cansar o Cansaço next year.

Singer, songwriter, director and actress from Rio Grande do Norte, Juliana Linhares is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Brazilian music. Her career is defined by a powerful stage presence and an artistic identity deeply rooted in Brazil’s Northeast. She has established herself as one of the leading figures in the region’s tradition of musical innovation, bringing together heritage and contemporary perspectives with a critical and sensitive approach.

Alongside her acclaimed solo career, she is a member of the band Pietá and the project Iara Ira, with which she has released three albums. Her career includes collaborations with artists such as Ney Matogrosso, Anastácia, Chico César, Larissa Luz, Khrystal, Letrux, Tom Zé, Zeca Baleiro and Agnes Nunes, as well as performances at major venues and festivals across Brazil.
