Trance icon Armin van Buuren and techno virtuoso HI-LO join forces on ‘Now Love Will Begin’

Introducing 'Now Love Will Begin,' the genre-bending collaboration between trance icon Armin van Buuren and techno virtuoso HI-LO.

Premiered on “A State of Trance” and a standout track included in Armin van Buuren and HI-LO’s much-talked-about B2B set at A State of Trance Rotterdam, ’Now Love Will Begin’ is a groundbreaking fusion of techno's pulsating rhythms and trance's euphoric melodies. The song takes listeners on an exhilarating journey through the realms of both genres, igniting dance floors and hearts alike.

“HI-LO (Oliver Heldens) and I just click so well. It was apparent during our back-to-back live set at A State of Trance in Rotterdam, and many others were able to see it as well when we connected on stage again in Miami during the Ultra Music Festival. I’m so happy that this natural flow between us extends to our studio work as well. We’re both so passionate about dance music, and I’m having such a great time being producer-nerdy in the studio with him. ‘Now Love Will Begin’ is what came out of it, and I’m so excited for the world to hear what we cooked up together!,” Van Buuren says.

“In the last half a year, it’s been awesome working with Armin on several collabs and preparing for our b2b sets. Probably the highlight so far was when all of that came together during our b2b at A State of Trance Rotterdam, and even though the b2b set at A State of Trance Miami didn’t happen in the end due to severe weather conditions, we still had a lot of fun preparing for that set, and in general, it’s been lovely to connect on a deeper level. Our first collab, ‘Now Love Will Begin,’ definitely captures that spirit; I think it’s a meaningful banger of a tune that crosses boundaries, uniting the worlds of techno, uplifting trance, and psy-trance. Enjoy! :),” HI-LO adds.

ABOUT Armin van Buuren

It takes little to recognize that Armin van Buuren has been one of the world’s biggest DJs and producers in electronic music for over twenty years. His lifelong dedication to the scene has earned him a Grammy nomination for ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ (feat. Trevor Guthrie) and critical acclaim for global hit singles such as ‘Blah Blah Blah’, ‘Great Spirit’ (with Vini Vici), ‘Leave A Little Love’ (with Alesso) and ‘Music Means Love Forever’ (with Steve Aoki). Additionally, he claimed the number one spot in the annual DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll an unprecedented five times, contributing to the twenty-one consecutive top 5 spots to date (the most recent being a #5 in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll of 2023). To date, Armin has seven full-length artist albums to his name: ‘76’ (2003), ‘Shivers’ (2005), ‘Imagine’ (2008), ‘Mirage’ (2010), ‘Intense’ (2013), ‘Embrace’ (2015) and ‘Balance’ (2019).

His two-hour radio show, A State of Trance (ASOT), is broadcast weekly from his own radio studio in the Armada Music HQ in Amsterdam to over 44 million listeners in more than 80 countries, as well as online via audio and video live stream on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. ASOT, which surpassed the milestone number of 1000 episodes in January 2021, has grown from a small radio show into a complete dance music brand with stages and events across the globe.

Armin van Buuren has launched several ‘Armin Only’ world tours throughout the years, including the ones based on his albums (‘Imagine’ in 2008, ‘Mirage’ in 2010, ‘Intense’ in 2013, and ‘Embrace’ in 2016) and ‘The Best Of Armin Only’ in 2017. In June 2022, two years later than originally planned due to the Corona pandemic, Armin van Buuren played his most personal and intimate live shows yet through four sold-out shows in the Ziggo Dome: ‘This Is Me – Feel Again’. Armin has headlined countless shows at leading festivals and venues around the world, including Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas, New York), Ultra Music Festival (Miami), and Tomorrowland (Belgium), plus residencies at Hï Ibiza, in Las Vegas and numerous others.

In addition to all of this, Armin van Buuren is the co-founder of Armada Music, the biggest independent dance music label in the world. The Amsterdam-, NYC- and London-based record label, which was founded in tandem with Maykel Piron and David Lewis, is acclaimed internationally for releasing music across the electronic music spectrum, was voted #7 in Mixmag’s “Label Of The Decade” poll in 2017, and is the six-time winner of “Best Global Record Label” at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami, the sixth of which was won in 2018.

ABOUT HI-LO

In just a few short years, Oliver Heldens successfully parlayed his career in mainstream dance music into a much-lauded alter-ego in the techno world as HI-LO, gaining widespread acceptance from the underground scene in the process. Making the most of an era when genre boundaries are less important or distinct than ever and younger generations cast aside the snobbery of old, the name HI-LO is now synonymous with cutting-edge, quality, hard-hitting, innovative techno. By 2020, his tracks ‘Zeus’ and ‘Kronos’ landed in the Top 10 most-played techno tracks of the year on 1001tracklists.com, making him the #1 most-supported producer platform-wide that year across all genres. His DJ sets as HI-LO has serenaded audiences at huge events like Ultra’s revered Resistance, Manchester’s Warehouse Project, Austin’s Seismic Dance Event, San Diego’s Proper NYE, plus prominent clubs in the techno scene like De Marktkantine in Amsterdam, Watergate in Berlin, E1 in London, Mondo in Madrid and Nitsa in Barcelona, plus numerous stand out performances on Drumcode and Filth on Acid label showcases across the globe.

Combining a big room sensibility with a dark, underground, raw edge, HI-LO has become a trusted tastemaker, with his tracks receiving massive support from luminaries of the scene, including Adam Beyer (who signed his ‘Hypnos,’ ‘Wanna Go Bang’ EPs and ‘CRESCENDO’ to his Drumcode label and invited him to remix his DJ Rush collab ‘Restore My Soul’), Reinier Zonneveld (with whom HI-LO released seven wildly creative collabs), Carl Cox, Solomun, Tale of Us, Anyma, Charlotte de Witte, Enrico Sangiuliano, Pan-Pot, Dubfire, Joseph Capriati, ANNA, AMELIE LENS, Joris Voorn, Robert Hood, Richie Hawtin, and countless other a-list acts. HI-LO was crowned the #1 best-selling and best-streaming techno artist over the last six months, according to Beatport. The next chapter in the HI-LO story was the January 2023 launch of HILOMATIK, a new label showcasing his productions alongside music from hot new talents and techno heroes that will further expand his musical manifesto. The imprint kicked off with the mighty ‘PURA VIDA’ from the man himself and has many exciting releases and party plans lined up in 2024.

A music industry legend, trailblazer, and currently one of the hottest DJs and producers on the underground electronic music scene...Green Velvet... came into existence more than 25 years ago. In 1993, Green Velvet launched Relief Records, and since that time, it has been a constant presence in the industry. When this very eccentric, green Mohawk-wearing Green Velvet emerged, he sent shock waves throughout the House and Techno music scenes. What was even more intriguing was his background. Born in the southern suburbs of Chicago, IL, he has always been an active athlete and focused student determined to follow his dream of becoming a chemical engineer. While he excelled scholastically, he was socially introverted but always committed to finding ways to share his enthusiasm for living. Even today, more than 25 years later...it is difficult to go to any electronic music festival or set and not hear music from Green Velvet/Relief Records. Crowds everywhere sing along when notable hits like ‘Bigger Than Prince,’ ‘Flash,’ ‘La La Land,’ ‘Lazer Beams,’ ‘Live Stream,’ ‘Preacher Man,’ ‘Shake and Pop,’ ‘Sheeple,’ ‘Suga,’ and ‘Voicemail,’ are blasting across the airwaves. Part of the history of Green Velvet and Relief Records is all about Love... Love of the music...Love of the fans...Love of other artists. The history of great releases on the label and artists speaks to this
