Transgressive Records Presents: Nadia Kadek

Introducing Nadia Kadek, a 22-year-old British-Indonesian artist whose evocative blend of minimalist alt-pop and singer-songwriter sensitivity signals a compelling new voice in contemporary music. With a warm, richly textured vocal presence that channels introspective power, Kadek crafts songs that are both stark and deeply emotive. Her debut single, ‘Feeling It All’ is a powerful first statement - anchored in raw acoustic tones and unflinching lyricism, it draws listeners into a world of quiet intensity and intimate storytelling.

Speaking about today’s single release, Nadia shares “Writing ‘Feeling It All’ helped me process the realism of growing up, letting go of the idealistic expectations of childhood and forgiving yourself for having them in the first place. The day after I started writing the song, my close friend and collaborator, Matt Ingram, convinced me we should finish it together and I feel like that process really put me on the path to finding my other songs. I recorded it to tape later on and that captured a very intimate and honest performance.”

Raised in the quiet countryside of Norfolk, Nadia describes herself as a “festival baby,” with early musical memories formed on long car journeys to campsites, soundtracked by the likes of Florence The Machine and Jeff Buckley. From watching her heroes on the shoulders of fellow festival-goers, to playing Glastonbury 2024 after placing runner up in their Emerging Talent Competition, her story is already one of full-circle moments and quietly extraordinary determination.

Now based in London, Kadek has steadily built a devoted following through the power of her live performances. After a string of self-booked live shows that showcased both her raw talent and tenacity, Kadek caught the attention of Transgressive Records, a label renowned for nurturing some of the most respected and boundary-pushing artists of today.

Nadia recently played two sets at The Great Escape and supported Cordelia at London’s Camden Assembly, with upcoming appearances confirmed at Glastonbury, BST Hyde Park, Latitude, and Pitchfork Festival. Her forthcoming run of live dates are as follows:

  • 29th May - Green Room @ 21 Soho, London
  • 18th June - Fresh Blooms @ Folklore, London
  • 29th June - Glastonbury Festival
  • 28th June - BST Hyde Park (Zach Bryan support)
  • 26th July - Latitude Festival
  • 8th November - Pitchfork Festival, London

Feeling It All’ is the first glimpse into a forthcoming project – a collection that sits in the bittersweet glow of late summer, navigating nostalgia, bruised family dynamics, fleeting romances, and the quiet resilience of forgiveness. Her lyricism is both disarmingly honest and delicately poetic, recalling the emotional clarity of artists like Adrianne Lenker and Lizzy McAlpine.
