Trixie Whitley shares live version of 'Which Side'
Trixie Whitley releases a live version of the previously released song “Which Side”, featured on ‘The Dragon Of Everything’ EP. The Song was recorded on Trixie’s’ last tour at the second Wintercircus show in Ghent.
“Which Side” is the only non-original on the latest EP ‘The Dragon of Everything’, written in 1931 by activist Florence Reece, the wife of a miner trapped in a dispute with the union. Whitley first brought her own howling rendition of the classic to life after the 2017 election, when she was asked to perform a civil rights song at an event at Brooklyn Museum. Usually, she’s loathed to get political, but it’s safe to say she’s felt more compelled to give her inner turmoil voice of late.
Because now, at the start of 2025 and given the events of the past months, this song resonates even more than before.”
