Undertow release new album trailer
UNDERTOW, a name that stands and guarantees intense, timeless and high-grade metal, since their foundation in 1993. Pure energy, a decent aggression and catchy melodies are the main trademarks of their highly emotional sound. On their upcoming new studio album »Reap The Storm«, all those elements are even more foregrounded and accomplish a heavy monster, that will be unleashed on September 21, both on CD and vinyl, by their new label El Puerto Records/Soulfood.
Today, UNDERTOW release their second album trailer, talking about inspiration and the songwriting.
""Zero Type X" is about dictators and slavedrivers who use and abuse people for their system, which happens on a daily, small and large basis, around the world", commented vocalist Joachim Baschin on the critical text. Musically, UNDERTOW take a step in a new direction on the track as well. "We've tried to break new ground and bring more modern elements in. The catchy chorus is accompanied by a catchy guitar harmony, which pushes the song a lot", reveals the founding member.

Frontman Joachim Baschin comments: "Trails For The Blind" was the first song we have written for the new record and it became a cornerstone for the creative process of the new album. The sophisticated guitar melodies developed an earworm character and the whole band whistled constantly parts of it. The lyrics are written by our former bassist Tom, while I had the basic idea. It's about how mobile phones or game consoles affect our lives and take our freedom to realize the real important things in life. It puts us in chains... if you get influenced by it too much, what is obviously the case for many of us today."
