Weed Demon releases Astrological Passages

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you spilled bong water on your Ouija board? Columbus, Ohio's Weed Demon just might be the resulting sonic conjuration.

Since their inception in 2014, these Sons Ov Midwestern Dankness have been perpetual slaves to the riff. Wanting nothing more than to do justice to the moniker they had chosen, the band wrote crushingly heavy riffs played at unnecessarily slow speeds and accompanied that music with vocals that would make the Dark Lord himself proud. Mix in some lyrics dripping with tongue-in-cheek innuendos about drug use and worshipping The Unholiest of Unholies and you have Weed Demon's first offering, Stoned to Death: five tracks of groove laden, stoned-out doom metal.

After its release, the Demon dudes gained a quick regional following along with the admiration of their peers and fellow bands all throughout Ohio. But in a state already teeming with grade A, tone drunk riffheads, it can be hard to stand out. So in late 2016, with bong in hand, Weed Demon descended into Daily Grind Studios and set to work. What emerged was a 50 minute slab of riff-soaked goodness called Astrological Passages.

Astrological Passages landed in the Summer of 2017, immediately garnering praise throughout the underground heavy music community. The depth and diversity of this new material far surpassed anything the band had put forth thus far. With more riffs than you can shake a spliff at and downtuned just enough, the pissed-off riffage pleased even the grimmest of trve metalheads.

Now almost a year later, Weed Demon is ready to unleash Astrological Passages on vinyl via Electric Valley Records. Be on the lookout for all three unique color variations coming July 27th, 2018.
