When you mix Etta James, Ella Fotgerlad andAlanis Morrisette and Any Winehouse you get Liredel

LIREDEL is the soulful songstress who takes her influence from many genres including old school greats such as Etta James, Nina Simone and Ella Fitgerald to the great front women of more modern times such as Alanis Morrisette and Amy Winehouse. There’s an undeniable sultry jazz tone to her vibe backed by her ability to belt out those power house lyrics alongside soft and tender melodies.

Liredel’s music is fired by love and passion. She is inspired to make music from her own lived life events that have affected and shaped her as a person.

Her hit single ‘Candles Burning’ released at the very end of 2024 was performed in collaboration with legendary actor Geoff Bell and was in honour of her late grandfather who first ignited her passion for music.

Liredel sings with her heart on her sleeve the melody and lyrics are delivered with a genuine emotion and none more so than her latest single of ‘Babe Don’t Miss A Beat’. This track is being released in honour of her dear friend and great supporter of the grassroots music scene; Sarah Stanley.

Liredel first met Sarah when she invited her to come along to the recording studio when she was there with Geoff Bell at the Albion Rooms in Margate. The friendship was given further gravity when Liredel performed her first ever live gig at The Libertines, Carl Barat’s nightclub in Margate: Justines.

Sarah being such a huge champion of up and coming new artists supported Liredel unwaveringly throughout their friendship and it is for this reason that following her passing, Liredel was compelled to pen a song in her memory. That track being ‘Babe Don’t Miss A Beat’.

‘Babe Don’t Miss A Beat’ epitomises Sarah with its rock edge and powerful lyricism. Punchy guitars and thrashing drums are interspersed with synths and a cut and pause effect , a concoction of sounds and styles making the listener sit back, take stock and most importantly, take notice.

It's not a sad song in the slightest, it's bold, it's loud and it's a celebration of being yourself - something that Sarah would love as she was never afraid to be herself in any room and never afraid to stand up for what she believed in.

In memory of Sarah, her husband Luke Stanley is hosting an all day music memorial event at The Dublin Castle in Camden as part of the Cats Who Rock Promotions that he and Sarah ran together hosting many musicians under their banner including the likes of Billy Lunn (The Subways) and Andrew Cushin.

Luke has asked that as many people as possible come along to The Dublin Castle in Camden on Sunday 12th July to give Sarah the musical extravaganza celebration she so rightly deserves. The Line-up includes an incredible 17 bands and artists who have all kindly waivered their fee in return for attendees instead being asked to make a donation to Luke’s chosen charity.

The charity that Luke has nominated is THE LISTEN FUND - Liver Transplant Charity.

The LISTEN Charity sits under the King's College Hospital Charity.

‘Babe Don’t Miss A Beat’ was recorded with award winning sound engineer and producer Jason Stafford (The Libertines, Trampolene, Jamie T) at The Albion Rooms In Margate. Jason also arranged and composed the backing track to the song.
