White Ferrari Announce “Ultra” EP Out February 02nd On Equal Vision Records/Rude Records Share New Video "hey, travesty"

Alternative outfit White Ferrari is back with new music video "hey, travesty", which shrugs the heavy weight of life’s difficulties off its own shoulders to make the most of a bad time.

The track is taken from the band’s debut upcoming EP 'Ultra' out February 02nd, 2024 via Equal Vision Records in partnership with Rude Records.

Co-produced with Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, Between You And Me, The Devil Wears Prada) White Ferrari played their debut show last fall opening for The All American Rejects in Florida. White Ferrari features members of the band Never Loved who previously toured with Armor For Sleep, In Her Own Words, Like Pacific and more.

White Ferrari – The Ultra EP bio

White Ferrari started when Cameron Knopp and Shane O’Brien wandered out into the desert to meet Keanu Reeves, who happened to be there riding his motorcycle. The pair explained to the actor they were starting a band called White Ferrari and told him it would be great if he could be in it. “He was like, ‘That’s cool!’” remembers Knopp, “which I took as a yes. So he’s the third member.”

The first track of this new band’s debut EP is “hey, travesty”, which shrugs the heavy weight of life’s difficulties off its own shoulders to make the most of a bad time. “you suck (just a little bit)” is a gloriously sunny ‘90s-esque blast of emo- power-pop while “see ur ghost”—co-written by Nick Wheeler from The All-American Rejects—is a deliriously catchy bop full of a yearning that’s only rivalled by its infectious melody.

“marina del rey”—an ode to the pair’s newly adopted home of Los Angeles—and “save a glass for me” are also riddled with emotion—Knopp’s voice shredding and breaks as the latter reaches its epic crescendo, and it’s clear that whatever inspired these songs, the emotion within them is real, raw and entirely genuine.

“Shane and I wrote everything on this EP together,” says Knopp. “We wanted it to be authentic and we wanted to write what we wanted to write without thinking too much about it” O’Brien attributes some of the pair’s very audible chemistry to how and where the rest of The Ultra EP was recorded. “We didn’t go into a studio with these songs,” he explains. “Instead, we rented an Airbnb in Coral Springs, Florida, and turned it into a studio.”

Co-produced with Sam Guaiana, these songs, the band say, are the most accurate representation of who they are that’s ever been captured on tape. “We get to be who we really are with this EP,” says Knopp. “We feel we’ve discovered our true identity with this EP.” And what, exactly, is that? “All you need to know,” says O’Brien, “is that we live for New Year’s Eve. That’s our motto.”

Keanu Reeves would undoubtedly agree with that statement, but he was riding somewhere in the desert on his motorcycle when the interview for this bio was taking place.
