I'm extremely pleased to be sending you the new single from London based dreamo upstarts Wildernesses.

'English Darkness' is the band's second single and lyrically explores frontman Phillip Morris’ work as an NHS-approved mental health professional (AMHP) observing a psychiatric admission from both sides of the coin. The track juxtaposes a young female’s crisis with the narrator’s questionable coping strategies.

The track permeates with a feeling of dark and cold autumn nights, with

vocalist Phillip Morris’ voice adding the warmth of a distant burning bonfire. Sonically, ‘English Darkness’ channels the brooding intensity of post-rock with a conventional pop sensibility — think along the lines of Mogwai meets The Cure.
