William Black Recruits Fairlane and Amidy for Immersive, Rocktronic-Fueled Melodic Dubstep Single "Nightmare" on Lost In Dreams Records

On June 13, Lost In Dreams unveils “Nightmare,” the third single from William Black’s forthcoming album—a sweeping melodic bass cut featuring Fairlane and Amidy that channels emotional unrest through rocktronic textures and explosive dubstep drops.

“Nightmare” brings together three distinctive voices in electronic music to form a cohesive and emotionally-charged narrative. Fairlane’s guitar-driven introduction lays a cinematic foundation, setting the stage for Amidy’s evocative vocal performance. His soaring topline—equal parts fragile and forceful—captures the disorientation of life spiraling out of control. As the energy builds, William Black’s production escalates with arpeggiated synths and atmospheric layers, culminating in a high-impact drop laced with serrated basslines and laser-cut sound design.

Referring to his single as one that is near and dear to his heart, William Black shares: “‘Nightmare’ is one of my favorite tracks I’ve made so far. The duality of melodic yet heavy drops takes the listeners on an emotional journey.”

The single follows “Save Me” and “Waiting On This Day Forever,” two early glimpses into William Black’s evolving sonic palette, both of which garnered support from Illenium, Frank Walker, and a range of tastemaking outlets including This Song Slaps, Fresh Music Freaks, and EDM Sessions. “Nightmare” underscores his continued exploration of emotional duality—crafting moments that feel simultaneously intimate and vast.

A mainstay in the melodic bass scene, William Black has built a global reputation for emotionally driven music that resonates across festival stages and personal playlists alike. With previous collaborations alongside Illenium and SLANDER, and a run of high-profile shows including Starbase, Lost In Dreams, Beyond Wonderland Chicago, Goldrush, and Red Rocks, William Black remains at the center of the genre’s evolution.

Joining him on “Nightmare,” Fairlane brings his signature fusion of electronic production and live instrumentation, while Amidy contributes both vocals and songwriting shaped by a background in emo rock and cinematic soundscapes. Together, the trio constructs a track that balances vulnerability with volatility—pushing melodic dubstep into deeper, more reflective territory.

William Black, Fairlane, and Amidy’s new single “Nightmare” is available on all platforms via Lost In Dreams.
