Yves Paquet Releases Videoclip To New Single 'Flow'

After showcasing his new sound with the laid-back 25-28 just a few short months ago, Yves Paquet just released his new single Flow. Producer Ant Whiting (MIA, John Newman, Ella Eyre,...) was once again at the helm for the recording of the track.

Flow showcases the polar opposite of what Yves is capable of, musically. Where 25-28 was mellow and vibe-y, Flow is a straight-up electronic banger, vibrant and full of energy. It’s got a bold edge, and (to Yves at least) it “sounds like one feels when things break apart”.

While the track is essentially a break-up song, it’s also about learning to handle the world around you. According to Yves, 2020 is the year to better ourselves, work on our flow and find the strength to walk away from the bad things in our lives. Flow is his statement of intent for exactly that.

"The video for Flow is a metaphor for the uncertainty we feel during these trying times and the way that projects to the outside world. The song is about working on yourself, taking care of yourself and the video translates the sometimes violent nature of the thought processes that go with that. "

The setting that Yves came up with (as an art lover himself) is an ancient city. From the outside, the city in the video seems quiet and peaceful, but when we zoom in, like in the museum, we take a look into our own minds and things are shaken up there - we’re not careful with ourselves, breaking paintings and sculptures. We need to work on our flow. If you’re not careful the violent delights in your mind could take over your calm exterior as well, as seen in the last part of the clip.
