Yves Tumor is back , new single “God Is a Circle

Yves Tumor has emerged with both exultant grandeur and visceral intimacy on new single “God Is a Circle,” first new music since 2021’s acclaimed The Asymptotical World EP and hot on the heels of appearing as the only featured artist on the new WILLOW album <COPINGMECHANISM>.

God Is a Circle ascends to new artistic heights for the project, with Yves' uncanny ability to recalibrate and reclaim pop: pairing a catchy lockstep groove and enveloping melody with washes of cacophonous noise and effortless vocal prowess. Yves’ voice intimately cuts through as if the listener is voyeuristically plunged into a confessional booth of a penitent. The single boasts production by Noah Goldstein (Frank Ocean, Arcade Fire, Kanye West), and is mixed by Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails), with Yves bringing in long-time band members and collaborators Chris Greatti and Rhys Hastings and background vocals laced by Ecco2K (Drain Gang/Year0001) and Thoom.

The single comes paired with an equally visceral music video, directed by visionary Jordan Hemingway (who helmed previous Yves Tumor video “Secrecy Is Incredibly Important To The Both of Them”), that explores an emotive and transgressive world, brilliantly peppered with references to 70’s arthouse cinema.

Yves Tumor recently concluded an extensive global tour, including headline dates across the world, a slew of top tier music festivals from Pitchfork to Outside Lands to Portola to This Ain’t No Picnic, a coveted slot opening for Florence the Machine, and a substantial run of dates both in the UK and US supporting Nine Inch Nails. Their dynamic live performances throughout sold-out venues across North America, the U.K., and Europe were met with a cavalcade of critical acclaim from The Guardian, Times, NYLON, Variety, Consequence, Stereogum, and more . Throughout their impressive and ever-expanding trajectory, Yves Tumor has been praised by The New Yorker as “unmissable” and a “quintessential performer” by The Austin Chronicle, and has been compared to the likeness of musical and cultural force Prince by The Washington Post, and Grace Jones by The Austin Chronicle.. Yves Tumor embodies and controls the unique and influential power to redefine pop music as we know it, with much more to come.
