Zohar & Adam released a nightmarish music video for “Demon,” featuring rapper Nory and keyboardist J3PO
Today, virtuosic instrumental duo Zohar & Adam released a nightmarish music video for “Demon,” featuring rapper Nory and keyboardist J3PO, directed by Darren Tun. Turning the jazz-rap track into a horror film, the video features the duo fighting off disfigured clones of themselves in the woods. The release is the latest from their debut album Osmosis, out November 6 via Mack Avenue Records.
The video follows the release of the single last week, which was placed on Apple Music’s ‘On The Corner’ playlist, and their tribute to the legendary Chick Corea, “For Chick (ft. Christian McBride & Steve Wilson),” which was placed on Spotify’s ‘State of Jazz’ playlist. Now embarking on their European tour, they will return to the US for their Blue Note Jazz Club and Winter JazzFest debuts on 11/30 and 1/15.

When asked about the release, Zohar & Adam said, “‘Demon’ comes out of nowhere, set to defy any expectations the audience has after the first release from Osmosis, “For Chick”. It features a different part of our artistry on the production side of things with a hyper-produced hip-hop, Latin, and jazz fusion. This song features J3P0, who played an instrumental part in us finding our sound. It also features Nory, who has been our primary collaborator for the last two years. In that time we have learned so much from him through the process of working together, which informs the creative path we’re on now.”
Making their Mack Avenue debut, brothers Zohar and Adam Cabo are turning heads at the ages of only 19 and 21. Having grown up with all the world’s music just a click away, their vast universe of influences mingle freely in their sound, drawing from Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, D’Angelo, A Tribe Called Quest, Roy Hargrove, MF DOOM, Hiatus Kaiyote and countless others. Their music is the product of endless hours of brotherly competition within a musical family, resulting in the kind of onstage telepathy you only hear in longstanding working bands of veteran musicians.
Having opened up for the likes of Norah Jones, Gregory Porter and Christian McBride as teenagers, the brothers’ onstage telepathy goes back as far as they can remember. Their compositions are devised by generating ideas through unbounded improvisations and allowing their chemistry to develop the songs - creating a sound that is as explosive and rapidly changing as it is grooving. In Zohar’s words, “We’re kind of like disaster artists onstage. Whatever happens, happens – and we always keep moving forward. We’re just trying to play what feels good.”
