Zoot Woman release new single 'The Stars Are Bright'

Zoot Woman will release their second single ‘The Stars Are Bright’ on 7th November, through Embassy One. The single is taken from their critically acclaimed new album ‘Star Climbing’ out now. Listen to ‘The Stars Are Bright’ here

‘The Stars Are Bright’ is a pulsating electro pop smash with double time beats and building synths that sees Madonna super-producer Stuart Price at his best on this record. It was the first song written for the album and was influenced by the sound of nineties rave clubs. The song also represents the trio’s mission statement for the album: “We’ve changed the way we see the world”, and encapsulates the optimistic synth pop sound of the new album.

"The Stars Are Bright is the first song that helped shape the direction for the album ‘Star Climbing’. We wanted to come back with a new ZW sound, and this song was the catalyst. It was written using the same instruments that feature in the song ‘Grey Day’. The idea was to incorporate elements of an uptempo club track with melodic vocals - influenced by tracks we grew up with in the 90’s.”

British electronic pop trio featuring producer Stuart Price (Madonna, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys, Les Rythmes Digitales and Jacques Lu Cont) and brothers Johnny (guitar, vocals) and Adam Blake (keyboards) met at school in Reading, England. Their debut album ‘Living In A Magazine’ (2001) was hailed as one of the most important forerunners of modern electronic pop music, with Hall & Oates/Pet Shop Boys infused singles such as ‘It’s Automatic’ and ‘Information First’ and their style led conceptual aesthetic. Zoot Woman went on to release two more albums ‘Zoot Woman’ (2003) and ‘Things Are What They Used To Be’ (2009) touring relentlessly whilst remixing artists including Scissor Sisters and Madonna under the name of Paper Faces.

Zoot Woman will be playing live at the Paradiso in Amsterdam (ADE) on 16th October. Tour to be announced.
