Embarking on their most ambitious new era yet and pioneering a genre-bending sound, EVERYONE’S A STAR! is 5 Seconds of Summer as you’ve never seen or heard them before, boldly elevating their sound and aesthetic to another stratosphere. Conceived as both a sonic leap forward and a reassertion of their identity, the record draws inspiration from artists like N.E.R.D., Gorillaz, The Prodigy and beyond, while embracing the energy that has always made 5 Seconds of Summer an electrifying live band.
Recorded across 2024 and 2025 between Los Angeles and Nashville, EVERYONE’S A STAR! finds the band confidently stepping into a new era. Working with acclaimed producers and collaborators Jason Evigan (Maroon 5, Benson Boone, Papa Roach, Rüfüs Du Sol), Julian Bunetta and John Ryan (Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims), the band’s new era is a reinvention without losing what’s made them one of the most loved bands of the last decade.

The album features the previously released singles ‘Telephone Busy’ which was released recently alongside their world tour announcement, the fan-favorite track ‘Boyband’ which acts as an ode to their fans and a playful nod to the label they’ve carried throughout their careers, and the powerful lead track ‘NOT OK’ which was accompanied by an official music video directed by Hannah Lux Davis (Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne) - watch here!
Earlier this month, the band announced their ‘EVERYONE’S A STAR!’ world tour kicking off in March with the European and UK leg running through May, including a run of UK and Ireland dates set to include London’s famous The O2 arena. The UK leg of the tour is followed by U.S. dates from May to August, before concluding in the band’s home country of Australia next November. See here for all tour dates and on-sale information.
Earlier this month, the band held an exclusive and intimate event at The Outernet in London. Fans who were lucky enough to get tickets were some of the first people in the world to listen to the new album in full ahead of release, before the band took to the stage inside a giant glass box to perform a full-throttle live performance. The raucous set featured songs taken from their new album alongside fan favourites from their acclaimed catalogue. Before the show, the band shut down London’s famous Denmark Street, arriving hidden in flight-cases ahead of posing as mannequins in the shop window of music shop Roland, as hundreds of screaming fans shut down the street to catch a glimpse of the band. After appearing in the window, the band exited the shop to a chorus of screams before driving away from the venue in a pink limo.
