Nocturne, Bell Of Mimir emerges from the Finnish underground to deliver a debut steeped in the slow, crushing essence of traditional doom metal. In an era where speed and oversaturation dominate, the band returns to the genre’s core: haunting atmospheres, slow-burning tempos, and rich harmonic depth.
Recorded in Tampere, Finland between 2023 and 2024 by Olli Karhu, and mixed/mastered by Atte Karm, Nocturne is a melancholic and artistically ambitious journey through the shadowy realms of doom. The album artwork, created by Jean Honoré Fragonard, ties the project to classical aesthetics and timeless darkness.

BIOGRAPHY
Bell Of Mimir was formed by Karhu in early 2021, after his initial experiments in composing doom metal with wide chord structures and vivid melodic themes. Influenced by his classical music studies, Karhu sought to blend heaviness with artistry.
After crafting early demos, Karhu invited longtime collaborator Tuohino to join the project. The two were soon joined by Marde, a skilled drummer and doom connoisseur, who initially declined but changed his mind after hearing the material.
By 2022, the trio began rehearsing and searching for a second guitarist. Nordlund came on board, completing the instrumental line-up. The final missing piece was vocalist Korvenmaa, whom Karhu had met years earlier in Turku. After hearing the demo, Korvenmaa’s response was simple: "This shit DOOMS."
With the band complete, Bell Of Mimir entered the studio and began the recording process of what would become their debut album, Nocturne
