Folk gem alert! Meet Benni, the Belgian singer-songwriter who captivated audiences supporting November Ultra and Isaac Roux!

With 150K streams on her latest single in just 3 months, Benni is making waves! After making sensation at We Are Open early February, and following in the footsteps of Damien Rice, Daughter or Phoebe Bridgers, the Vielsam-born artist today unveils a brand new single entitled ‘Coma', and announces her debut EP 'Bleeding Colours' - to be released on April 11, 2025 on [PIAS] Recordings.

'Coma' is an enchanting pop ballad which explores bitterness, humor in irritation, and love’s fleeting power:
‘Coma is the obligatory chapter of bitterness before mourning, of irritation in a humorous tone and of numbness because after the pain comes torpor. When you don't want Love any more, but it's beating down on you impatiently, you can't help but succumb. He convinces you. Why wake me up to make me love you if it's for such a short time?'

The track is accompanied by a video shot in the quarry de Hourt - not far from her home - and directed by Simon Vanrie:
'Through Benni's (brilliant!) performance, filmed as sequence shot, the idea was to symbolise the mourning of a love: to bury it definitively and to free oneself from it. I wanted the acting and direction to subtly bring out his contradictory emotions, between rejection and dependence, while at the same time showing his determination to free himself. The choice of sequence shot made it possible to offer a raw and sincere interpretation, faithful to the impression I got when we first met.'
