German trio PABST return today with new track ‘Big Big Heart’—a collaboration with touring buds in Brighton grit-pop duo snake eyes, and the final single to be taken from their forthcoming new album, This is normal now, released 28th November 2025 via Alcopop! Records / Ketchup Tracks.
Following their collaboration on snake eyes track ‘Hug Me’ earlier this year, the two bands reignite their friendship with new offering ‘Big Big Heart’, serving as a biting commentary on male hubris and manipulative behavior.
The song fits seamlessly into Pabst's genre-bending carousel, revealing yet another facet to the band. Reminiscent of the substance-fueled, arrogant stomp of Viagra Boys, British-tinged rave-rock flashes through the track’s robotic soundscape, as does its younger cousin, dance-punk, capturing the kinetic essence of both bands’ vibrant local music scenes.
Commenting on the track, they say: “Is rock‘n‘roll dead? Not as long as Pabst and Snake Eyes carry on!”
snake eyes vocalist Jim Heffy adds: “we love pabst and we love this tune. earlier this year we entertained the idea of doing a "response" to 'hug me' where we jump on a pabst track. to finish our vocals in time for the deadline i had to set up a mini studio in a hotel room somewhere in america—baltimore i think? it probably annoyed the shit out of the other guests but totally worth it. the rock can't be stopped.”
One of Germany’s most exciting rock exports, praised for their mix of fuzz, grunge, and irony-soaked indie, PABST have over 200 shows under their belt to date.
After two self-released albums Deuce Ex Machina (2020) and Crushed by the Weight of the World (2022), the band signed to Alcopop! Records’ bustling roster in 2023 for the release of their unruly live album 1, 2, 3, Go!.
With a Top 20-charting album in Germany, love from the inimitable Daniel P Carter at BBC R1, and a veritable smorgasbord of tours across Europe with the likes of Billy Talent, The Beatsteaks, Bob Mould, snake eyes, and Beach Riot under their belts, the three Berliners’ antics are no longer solely confined to the German-speaking corner of the music industry.
As evidenced by recent appearances on the big stages of The Great Escape Festival (UK), renowned Rock am Ring Festival (GER), Sziget Festival in Budapest (HUN) and Madcool Festival in Madrid (ES), now is the time for PABST to take the bull by the horns, and their irresistible Hyper-Rock to global audiences.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Magnus Wichmann at lala Studios, Leipzig, new album This is normal now is unmistakably PABST at their most sharpened, and—as ever—what they deliver is impossible to replicate.
Starting in December 2025, PABST will hit the road on their newly-announced “Sorry For Hyper-Rocking” headline tour, and for those of you in Germany there’s absolutely no excuse to miss one of the country’s finest exports.
Further international live dates and album details will be announced over the coming months.
This is normal now by PABST is released 28th November 2025 via Ketchup Tracks & Alcopop! Records.
