Cristina Branco makes her debut this Tuesday, November 5, in Oman at the prestigious Royal Opera House Muscat, one of the Middle East's most iconic venues. Branco is heading to Muscat with her usual trio, consisting of Luís Figueiredo (piano), Bernardo Romão (Portuguese guitar), and Bernardo Moreira (double bass). The concert will be centered around her latest work, Mãe, but will also feature other songs and fados from her extensive and acclaimed career. As always, Cristina Branco will give voice to poems by prominent authors of Portuguese literature, continuing the tradition that defines her artistic journey.
Next on the tour is Leverkusen, Germany, where she will perform at the Bayer Erholungshaus on November 8, followed by a return to Portugal in Oeiras at the Ruy de Carvalho Auditorium on November 15. Due to unforeseen circumstances, her concert in Istanbul, originally scheduled for October 26, was postponed. A new date will be announced soon.
The tour will continue through 2025, with confirmed concerts in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
In 2024, Cristina Branco has already performed in over thirty venues worldwide, from Latin America to Europe, presenting Mãe. This year has been filled with concerts, also featuring Abril - Cristina Branco Sings José Afonso (2007), a work revisited for the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, with a performance scheduled for December 5 at Teatro São Luiz in Lisbon.
With 18 albums released, extensive world tours, and multiple awards—including two Prix Choc from Le Monde de La Musique and the SPA Album of the Year Award for Menina (2016)—Cristina Branco is a true ambassador of Portuguese culture. Traditional music lies at her core, but the influence of jazz, literature, and the musicians she collaborates with give her art a universal dimension.
