Visionary Singer/guitarist David Young has 70 writing and production album credits under his belt along with over 25 million streams/downloads for his various projects. In addition, Young has written four books and three musicals. Young has worked with Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta, Tony Franklin, Ricky Peterson, Noah Levy, John Philip Shenale, Bebu Silvetti, and Frankie Moreno.
Legendary keyboardist/writer-arranger Clifford Carter has performed and recorded in a hyper eclectic range of musical styles including jazz, blues, pop, rock, folk, gospel, and more. On the blues side of the street, Carter’s Hammond organ playing is featured on legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor’s Steamroller Blues, from the 1993 release James Taylor Live. He has performed The Thrill Is Gone with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame blues titan B.B King and Tracy Chapman on the David Letterman Show, and has worked with James Taylor, Steve Jordan, Warren Haynes, Keith Richards, Dr. John, Bettye LaVette, among many other great musicians and performers.
Together Young and Carter have teamed up for this season’s best feel good Christmas Song ‘Bluesy Christmas.’
With Young on Guitar and Vocals, Carter on Keyboards, the Soul Sessions band also includes one of the world’s premier drummers and bass players: Gregg Bissonette and Sean Hurley.

David Young - Making his start in the upstate NY club scene, from 1980-1982, David played the part of Angus in QT Hush, The Tribute to AC/DC, leading the band to become one of the biggest club/concert draws from Buffalo to Boston to Baltimore. Young’s version of “By The Time We Got To Woodstock” was used in the Woodstock Museum for the 40th anniversary. After moving to LA in 1990, Young placed second in a 24 hour blues guitar competition of L.A’s best guitarists put on by Guitar Center. In 1990, Young was performing at Venice Beach playing his flutes wearing a puffy white pirate shirt, which turned out to be the inspiration for the Seinfeld “puffy shirt” episode. Young went on the play in the LA blues rock trio with Matt Abst (Govt Mule, Dickey Betts Band) and bass player Lou Castro (Albert Lee).
Clifford Carter - This legendary New York based keyboardist Clifford Carter has performed and recorded in an eclectic range of musical styles including, blues, pop, rock, folk, gospel, and jazz. On the blues side, Carter’s Hammond organ playing is featured on James Taylor’s legendary, Steamroller Blues, from the 1993 multi platinum classic, James Taylor Live. He has performed, The Thrill Is Gone, with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame blues titan B.B King and Tracy Chapman on the David Letterman Show. Clifford has worked with drummer musical/director, and producer Steve Jordan, performing at special events with Warren Haynes, Keith Richards, Dr. John and Bettye LaVette. Recent gigs include performances with Chicago blues guitarist/ vocalist Ronnie Baker Brooks and recording for guitarist Robben Ford’s latest recording Common Ground (co-led by saxophonist Bill Evans). Carter co-wrote and produced the title song with Evans, feat. bassist Daryl Jones, (Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, Sting) drummer Keith Warlock (Steely Dan).
Gregg Bissonette - One of the world’s premier drummers, Gregg is a four time winner of Best Drummer in Drummers World Magazine as well as having the honor to be Ringo Starr’s drummer in his All Starr Band since 2008. Gregg recently won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues album for his playing on Edgar Winter’s, Brother Johnny - playing on 16 of the 17 songs. An extraordinary, versatile drummer, Gregg has played with David Lee Roth, James Taylor, Santana (on his Grammy winning album Supernatural), Don Henley, Joe Satriani, and Andrea Bocelli. Gregg has recorded music for numerous films:?The Bucket List, Finding Nemo, Best In Show, The Bourne Supremacy, The Devil Wears Prada, The 40 Year Old Virgin, and the TV show, Friends and the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert Gregg has three solo albums, Gregg Bissonette, Submarine, Warning Will Robinson, and an award-winning two-disc DVD, Musical Drumming in Different Styles (Hudson Music), and recently recorded video lessons for Kennan Wylie’s Drumset Method books (Hal Leonard).
Sean Hurley - Since moving to L.A. from Massachusetts as a member of the band Vertical Horizon in 2000, Sean has made a name for himself as a top call bassist whose recording credits include John Mayer, Edgar Winter, Michael Buble, Robin Thicke, Idina Menzel, Alicia Keyes, Alanis Morissette, Annie Lennox, Ringo Star, and Lizzie McAlpine, as well as many film and TV scores. Sean recently won a Grammy with Gregg for Best Contemporary Blues album for Edgar Winter’s, Brother Johnny. Sean has toured extensively with John Mayer, with blues harmonica player James Montgomery and lots of little blues groups around Boston in the 90s. Sean also has a signature bass made by Fender.
