Disaffected were formed in 1991 in Portugal as a death/thrash metal band. Over time, their music became more progressive and complex, leading to the release of their debut album "Vast" in 1995—a historic landmark in the Portuguese underground, with the single “Vast – The Long Tomorrow” even aired on MTV. After two more albums, “Rebirth” (2012) and “The Trinity Threshold” (2017), the long-awaited fourth studio album, "Spiritual Humanized Technology", is now available via Firecum Records and Larvae Records

"Spiritual Humanized Technology" is a conceptual album where the band’s progressive and experimental roots merge with darkness and groove, shaping an astral sonic journey that expands their sound into new dimensions. Disaffected’s lyrical content is a elaborate balance of two worlds: the traditional death-metal intensity and a more expansive, introspective, even cosmic lyrical scope. This gives them a kind of “progressive” mood not only musically but lyrically. This kind of approach is compelling: the lyrics push beyond “anger, gore” into “what does it mean to die, to renew, to exist”.
