Rapper, songwriter and raconteur - DIZRAELI - is celebrating the publication of his new book ‘Animal Noises’ with a UK tour this June/July.

A collection of lyrics, diary entries, experimental writings and surreal illustrations plucked from the margins of his notebooks, ‘Animal Noises’ is a searingly honest exploration of the mess of human creation. With each of the books’ pages bursting with life, Dizraeli describes the new work as “a book about letting go of control and perfection, and laying bare the messiness of the creative process of life.”

Hitting the road this summer to mark the book’s release, the tour will see Dizraeli strip his craft down to the bare bones, performing works on fatherhood, sex and the end of the world with the ferociously sharp lyricism and sense of the absurd that he has made his trademark — think Dylan Thomas meeting Black Thought at a John Cage concert and you’re halfway there.

After emerging from the creative melting-pot of the Bristol scene over twenty years ago, Dizraeli is an artist who has defied expectations at every turn, forging his own way ever since. From building a devoted underground following with his first band Bad Science (1999-2008), through to his debut solo album ‘Engurland (City Shanties)’ in 2009 and a world tour to celebrate the acclaimed ‘Moving In The Dark’ with Dizraeli and The Small Gods a short while later, the artist has collaborated along with way with the likes of Kae Tempest, Jam Baxter, Beans on Toast and Eliza Carthy. Exploring the crossover between hip-hop, folk, bass and everything in between, Dizraeli most recently released his solo masterpiece ‘The Unmaster’, which was nominated for Album of the Year in the 2020 Worldwide Awards by Gilles Peterson.

A poet and a wordsmith to his core, he has previously won both the Farrago UK Slam Championships and the BBC Radio 4 Poetry Slam, plus has written several hip-hop plays including ‘Rebel Cell’ with Baba Brinkman. His unswerving devotion to pushing the boundaries of musical form has earned him a bonafide cult status among those who know, with the raw honesty and humour he brings to his writings on mental health, sexuality and the liberation of the human spirit having drawn together people of all shades and ages.

Over the years he has won over audiences in both intimate settings and on the big stage, with notable performances at Glastonbury, Latitude Festival, the Eden Project, the Royal Festival Hall and more.

Hitting the road again in 2023, the forthcoming ‘Animal Noises’ UK Tour will kick off at London’s Roundhouse on 2 June and see stops in Exeter, Bournemouth, Bristol and Brighton. Stripping his songs right back to the bare bones, each show will see Dizraeli perform acapella, uncut, raw and direct. Tickets are available now here, and full dates and details are below.
