Lying somewhere between post-rock and post-hardcore, FIRST DRAFT's new album 'An Instant Before the Promise of Dawn' reflects the band's common thoughts on society. Based on a damning observation, they urge us to unite and fight. As on the opening track “Paralysis” Kingdom" which rages against sexist and sexual violence, the album stands up against inequality in the broadest sense, violence and fascism.
About new video "Paralysis Kingdom", Marine Arnoult (vocals, drums) comments: "Sexist and sexual violence is omnipresent but invisible, serious but unpunished, mediatised but commonplace. While writing Paralysis Kingdom, I needed to shout out my rage at the number and diversity of male violence that I have experienced and that most women and gender minorities experience on a daily basis. My rage at seeing ourselves angry at ourselves for getting into a state of shock, my rage at being told how we should have behaved or how our aggressor is basically a good person. I see this song as a rallying call to fight this violence, to make people feel guilty and to allow us to finally feel free to move and think."
FIRST DRAFT's new album 'An Instant Before the Promise of Dawn' drops on October 10th 2025 on vinyl, CD, streaming and download, through Vlad Productions.
