After the success of his solo album ONE (2014) and the corresponding worldwide tour that took him on the road for more than 2 years, Jef Neve proudly presents his newest album to you: Spirit Control, out on 17 March 2017.
A little word by Jef Neve about his new music: “What if you feel that you’re at top speed? What if suddenly, in the middle of your life, all sails are pointing in the same direction? What if you finally learned to stay up on your feet on the most difficult waves and succeeded to reach the beach in one spectacular jump?
The feeling I have when I go kitesurfing, a controlled battle with the water and wind, even being able to fly, that’s what I found in my life: “Spirit Control”, or the idea that your mind is finally doing what you always desired, the thought that you are taking the wheel now, a fantastic feeling of freedom. The most beautiful music is like life at its best: space to improvise, and the most beautiful voice is left out subtly so everyone can colour it in for himself and create their own story. Enjoy music, enjoy life.”
The tempo is high, the piano is pushing the flow, drums and electronics create a rumble in the belly of the music, while the strings take care of the drama. This results in vivacious melodies and songs, where you can feel the heartbeat pounding in the rhythm of this generation.
