Laurel Bloom embodies raw immediacy, childlike curiosity, and a hint of secret eccentricity. Behind this pseudonym is Lucas Zibulski, a young musician known as the drummer for folk-rock band Malummí, as well as for various jazz projects. With Laurel Bloom, he brings his voice into the microphone for the first time, allowing his artistic vision coming to life.
Talking about his debut single, Laurel Bloom says: „I wrote Deniable at home on the piano in early 2024, when I was overwhelmed by many things. The song celebrates refusing the things that are harmful to you and empowers you to take control of your life. With its groove and catchy melody, it invites you to secretly dance around your home. The song also serves as a comforting embrace when things aren't looking so good.“
Inspired by Andy Shauf and Aldous Harding, Laurel Bloom follows a rich tradition of songwriting. The arrangements are sparse, acoustic, and interpreted with playful care. His debut EP, «Painting The Sunlight In My Room» will be released in January 2025 in collaboration with Irascible Music.
