Laurel Bloom embodies raw immediacy, childlike curiosity, and a hint of secret eccentricity. Behind this pseudonym is Lucas Zibulski, a young musician known as the drummer for folk-rock band Malummí, as well as for various jazz projects. With Laurel Bloom, he brings his voice into the microphone for the first time, allowing his artistic vision coming to life. His debut EP «Painting The Sunlight In My Room» will be released on 24. January.

In the early 2024, he set up a piano in the living room where he grew up. Together with his childhood friend Konstantin Aebli – a producer and multi-instrumentalist – they transformed the living room into a home studio. This intimate space, filled with memories from his childhood and youth, is as integral to his songs as the vivid cracks of the creaky old house. In the pale light of the impending spring sun, Laurel Bloom sang his first lines: tales about growing pains, the process of letting go and moving on, and the peace that comes from embracing childhood. Inspired by Andy Shauf and Aldous Harding, Laurel Bloom follows a rich tradition of songwriting. The arrangements are sparse, acoustic, and interpreted with playful care.
