Songs That Saved My Life is a project built around impactful music that has played an important role in the lives of both artists and fans, while supporting mental health and suicide prevention charities. Every music lover has a song that's helped them through a tough time, and this project shares those stories with the world. Via Songs That Saved My Life - artists record cover versions of the songs that have shaped them, with proceeds currently benefiting one of four charities: Crisis Text Line, Superbands, The Trevor Project, and To Write Love On Her Arms.
Like Roses is the newest signee to Hopeless Records. The Berkeley-bred emo rock band officially signed with the iconic label this past September, marking a new chapter in their fast rising career. Like Roses has quickly become a name to know in the underground scene.
Like Roses shares:
“A few years ago, I was dealing with the aftermath of ending a long-term relationship, and I was in that phase of feeling lost and struggling to figure out who I was and what my life was supposed to look like. That summer, I heard “Believe” again for the first time in what felt like forever. It’s been around for most of my life, but it wasn’t until then that I really /listened/ to it, and I remember being like “wait, this is actually kind of a badass pop banger of a breakup song.”
And after that I kept listening to the song for weeks. I’d be driving down the freeway blasting it like “I DON’T NEEEEED YOU ANYMOOOORE” (lol) and it just felt good. I’m usually the type to fuel the fire with sad songs, but there was something healing about finding reassurance in an absolute club banger. It was one of the things that made the idea of putting my life back together feel more exciting than daunting.” - Amy, Like Roses
