After a year of hiatus, Nexus has just released the video for their most recent single titled ‘Falling Down’, an eclectic progressive metal song that serves as a prelude to the EP that will be released in 2025 and that shows the notable musical evolution of the Mexican band.
Portraying how unhappy people can be due to the social pressure of not meeting the expectations of our system, Nexus presents an opportunity to relax and be yourself for a day. “#al4ching4d4 is a typical Mexican phrase to say that everything should go to hell, which we want to reflect in a simple video, which tries to remind us how fickle life can be,” says Jorge Vargas, vocalist of the group.
The video was filmed by @Turk3y Visual Rockstar, a renowned Mexican photographer who works with prestigious brands, artists and models, leaving the editing in charge of Jorge Vargas, Nexus vocalist. The song was also recorded at Jorge's studio, Thered Home Estudio, with him personally taking care of the mixing and mastering.
Nexus has been making history since 2004, touring twice internationally, performing at major festivals such as "Hell And Heaven" and Knotfest, as well as playing alongside bands such as Opeth, Katatonia, Riverside, Alcest, Leprous, Soen, Vola, Evergrey and Caligula's Horse. They are currently made up of Jorge Vargas on vocals, Jack Tale on lead guitar, Alex Lamia on rhythm guitar, and Erika Díaz on bass.
