Porches releases new track “Crying At The End”

Today Porches, the recording project of NYC’s Aaron Maine, releases “Crying At The End,” a guitar-heavy new track that in under 2 minutes epitomizes the grunge-inspired sound of his forthcoming new album Shirt. Maine sings about “tears on my something,” an unsubtle wink to the listener that the songs of Shirt aren't about specific details, but instead the blurry feelings smeared across our collective consciousness. “Crying At The End” is the final preview of Shirt before the album’s release on September 13^th via Domino.

Porches - Crying At The End

A concise record that thrusts listeners into a fevered state, Shirt’s hormonal rock songs collide with emotional ballads to create a dynamic tension that propels the listener ahead. The album speaks in broad, relatable terms while maintaining an intimate connection with its creator, blurring the line between universality and personal revelation. Shirt is as much about the climaxes as it is about the banality between life's most memorable moments, celebrating not just the first kiss but also the anxiety intertwined with it.

Shirt is instantly recognizable as Porches' heaviest album to date. Grungy guitars that shine with a menacing glint, drums and bass that punch you warmly in the stomach, interspersed with moments of eerie calmness to create a physical sense of tension and release that resonates with each track.

Porches will tour across North America this fall, kicking off on October 15 in Boston and closing with a hometown show at Brooklyn Steel on November 20^th. The North American run follows a UK/EU tour. All dates are below and tickets are available at porchesmusic.com.
